To me Carl Froch is an average world champion and Dirrell would not have to be top draw to beat him and it wouldn't surprise me if Froch comes bottom of the table. I think his hands held low style will come back to haunt him.

Who does he think he is ?

You have to have lightening fast reflexes to get away with that. Also his one-punch at a time (A-La F.Mayweather Jnr) doesn't work for him as he doesn't punch quick or accurate enough for it. Even I can see that crazy uppercut move he keeps trying to pull off coming. I see the two young up-coming guys in Dirrell and Ward dominating this competition.

Froch should have more than enough in his armour to see off dirrell and i expect a comfortable points decision. Ive seen 4-5 dirrell fights so far and am not buying him for 1 minute. He`s the weakest of the 6 and fighting the 2nd best of the 6.

The same people on here that think dirrell will beat froch are the same type that believed lacys journey to britain to fight JC was merely a formality and a way to get him over to the european public.

As appose to the Brits who thought Hatton's pressure would overcome Mayweather's speed, right? Chances are Dirrell-Fraud will look more like Mayweather-Hatton than Calzaghe-Lacy

I commended Froch after beating Taylor. After the Pascal fight, I thought Pascal was underrated and Froch overrated. Then Froch beat Taylor and I had to give him a little credit. If he beats Dirrell it will be hard to deny that he is a top threat at 168.

Disagree with that mate, the amount of brits on here who thought Hatton would win were no where near as much as the amount of Americans who fought Lacy would beat Calzaghe, if I had to guess id say the amount of Americans who thought Lacy would win id say 90%, amount of Brits who thought Hatton would beat Mayweather I think you would be hard to name 60% on here.

The problem with that logic that most Brits also thought Lacy would win unless they were from Wales.

Oh there were several. Some just didn't come back.

And I'm sure all them idiots who made the trip across the pond really thought Hatton was going to lose, right?

No VD, they HOPED he'd win but they were there primarily to support their fellow countryman in his attempt to beat the best fighter on the planet. Is that a concept so hard for you to grasp? Are you implying that if they actually thought he may lose they wouldn't have bothered showing up?? Thats not the way it works. They wanted him to win and did all they could to give him the confidence to achieve it....

They also, in most cases, paid more than most of them could probably afford in order to travel to the States to support him. That is where American and British fans may differ. I realize that only about 20-25 people actually own a passort in the States but how many American fight fans traveled to the UK to support Jeff Lacy against Calzaghe? Including Lacy and his cornermen I'd say about four.

Maybe Lacy would have had a better night if the cheers of his traveling fans were filling the stadium...

British fight fans support their fighters and I respect that. It's classy to travel overseas to support your fighter. I'm "considering" heading to Nottingham to support Dirrell to do the same. I went to the Carl Froch v. Jermain Taylor fight and sat next to six guys from Nottingham who all wore Carl Froch tee-shirts and sang crappy British songs. I was talking mad issh to them - of the "British fighters can't hang" variety. Needless to say, when Froch knocked JT out, I had a lot of words screamed at me that I won't repeat (I didn't understand half of them anyway - what's up with the Nottingham accent?), but it was all in good humor. None of it was mean-spirited even though I would have loved to get a bit gangsta on some brits . Maybe I'll have my day at the Dirrell fight.

Dont rise to it, VD knows that Carl is the man to beat at 168 and mark my words Dirrell isnt going to be the man to rise to that occasion.

I had PBF inside 7 rounds, so I didn't do Hatton justice lol

I also called Lacy v Calzaghe as 50/50, how wrong I was on that

P.S I stand by my statement that I have always made, that Froch gets KOed first time he fights a really big (world class) puncher

    Hope I'm wrong though

Could happen Big H. But Froch has something that Dirrell doesn't. He's had two BIG fights in which he has had to battle back from near defeat (more so in the Taylor fight than Pascal) and found a way to win impressively. That shows the mark of the man for sure. Every fighter he faces in the future will know that, no matter how well they do against him and no matter how pedestrian they make him appear, he has the mental strength to find a way to win!

For me this super-middle tournament is about two fighters... Froch and Abraham! Those two will put on one of the most gripping and brutal fights seen for years! They are both cut from the same cloth. Both have had near defeats but battled back through them to come out victorious..

Hearts of iron and chins of steel... Can't wait for it!

...as i wrote in another post. This sadly will be a boring fight. Direll wont engage froch, and froch is too slow to do anything about it. Direll will pot shot the hell out of this man for 12 rounds no matter how loud we boo he'll take an easy decision. Ask curtis stevens, the same thing happened to him when he was a threat to direll.
