Here is my only criticism: Nate has said time and time again that Guzman was a coward for not fighting him despite a weight disadvantage. Tonight Nate was at a disadvantage and he quit the second he got back to the corner. He could have kept fighting but he was banking on NC. This fight was just like Rahman-Toney 2. I have no problem with his argument, in fact, he is right, it should have been ruled a NC. BUT, he did quit. Also, there is no doubt in my mind that Bradley was on his was to winning the fight.
Unfortunately for Campbell, his didnt fight like a guy on his last leg and it will be very hard for Nate to get a big fight now as his value as dropped imo. From what we did see of him, he didnt appear to be a real threat to someone like Pacquiao or Kahn even. Bradley deserves credit reguardless because he was coming on strong and fought a determined fight.
Psalm 144: Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle
Disappointed with the way it ended, I expected more from Campbell! I'm not really interested in seeing a rematch although this fight was inconclusive, Nate had his chance & bailed... if he wants another shot he's gotta earn it imo
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
The hate Nate Campbell is getting for stopping with the cut is funny to me. Where were these people when Barerra was fighting Khan? That were saying that Barerra should have backed out of the fight and that the cut was terrible and how Khan should get no credit whatsoever.
Now Bradley gets no criticism whatsoever in fact now Campbell is getting a lot of flack for pulling out.
This double standard in boxing annoys me. On one hand you have a fighter not do it and you bash him and his opponent for it, and on this hand you have a fighter that does it and you say he isn't a warrior and you've lost respect?
Which one is it gonna be?
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
It was a crappy ending to what was supposed to be a great fight.
The referee was worthless, and the cut was caused by an accidental butt and thus the result should have been a NC and not a TKO win for Bradley.
BUT Campbell asked for the fight to be stop and quit. And anytime you quit in the other guys hometown, knowing that the referee never confirmed that the cut was from an accidental clash of heads, well you are risking getting screwed.
There is still a chance the commission could over turn this like they did with the Rahman vs. Toney fight.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Campbell was beat to the punch from beginning to end but rules are rules. If the referee was alert it would be a no contest but either way, that fight belonged to Bradley.
