He got out of the ring ASAP though, it was only after cooling off that he was ready to get in front of the cameras. Just seemed a bit weak. Why not just say you had a bad elbow whilst still in the ring. It's almost like he needed to buy time to work up an excuse. Maybe it wasa legitimate injury, but it seemed a bit weird whilsy watching it all unfold.

I think it probably was a legit injury & despite what he said, his emotion in the interview tells me that this probably is it for him. When asked, he paused long enough that I think he thought it was but didn't want to commit to retirement just yet. His performance was an embarassment, but no more to me than Hatton's pub drunk imitation against Pacquiao

Having spent $150 on a ticket, I personally felt that the least he could have done was not come out looking like someone who'd never boxed before. I don't care if he didn't quit, him swinging all over the place for 6 minutes was just as irritating & embarassing to me personally as what Witter did.

I also went out for the fight. Its a gamble when you pay so much to go out there. But would you of complained if Pacquiao fought a shocking fight?

To be honest I would have, I went there as a boxing fan not a Hatton or Pacquiao fan. The difference was Hatton had made all kind of promises of what he could do & instead he looked worse than I've ever seen him. People say reverted to type, but IMO the only type he reverted to was the kid who came into the gym the first time. Even against Mayweather where he ended up being systematically annihalated, he at least actually fought as good a fight as he was capable of IMO. The thing is I just can't see a situation where Pacquiao would of fought that poorly. Hatton knows how to fight, but he chose not to, & for me that is as much a disrespect to the fans as what Witter did. Just because he got laid out doesn't mean he gave it all he's got

I think getting sparked cold inside six minutes is worse than retiring after 8 rounds when you're maybe 3 rounds down.

Over a year ago I had to ask who Junior Witter was and what caliber of fighter he was. I forgot who graded him and he was right on the money, lousy.

You guys seem way too happy to hear this guys career is over! I am a Witter fan I did not see the fight but he is clearly shot.

Just proves that Witter isn't that good atall, because Alexander sure isn't the second coming by a long stretch...... I'm thinking that quitting with an injury he's tryin to hold on to the idea that people will still think he's good for another chance and only got beat because of blaah blaah. If he'd have got whooped that would have been curtains for sure......
