I believe him and think he got a rough deal. Maybe Bradley would have won anyway, but that is besides the point in a case like this. There should be a rematch, not fair on Campbell to have it decided like that.

if there was any chance of campbell proving the injury is legit could the decision be overtured and the fight ruled a no contest

barrera suffered a worser cut against khan and decided even despite taking a pummeling to carry on because of the class act he is.
Im not questioning campbells heart at all as he is a ring warrior that has been punched more times than ive had hot meals. But perhaps he realised 3 rounds in he was on the verge of defeat and opted to take the easy route out without realising the ref had infact deemed the butt accidental!

I, too, tend to believe Nate. He had this shocked look on his face. I don't think Bradley was exactly dominating him until the butt. He was clearly bothered and trying to get the refs attention. I think most of Bradley's punches were glancing when Nate was on the ropes... he smelled blood. I give a lot of credit to Bradley for trying to finish him off. We all know if Bradley TKOed him at that point Campbell would have never had the chance to contest the butt and go for the NC.
It's not like he quit like Zab Judah VS Clottey... Nate was not talking about getting a NC. Personally I'm pissed Barrera lost because he fought on. We may not see him in the ring again!
I think both of these guys are really intelligent. Bradley... not a word from him about anything fair/unfair... he just gives the usual "I'm just doing my job, kicking ass taking names." Campbell, if he is lying about not being able to see, he played the perfect victim. But, again, not likely. This guy is world class as far as sportsmen go.

I have to agree with Nate and say he is telling the truth....If everyone remembers the replay he was motioning to the ref about the butt before Bradley even got the get in another punch....The combo Bradley threw at nate on the ropes was not as bad as seemed when looking at the replay he missed a lot of the shots or just grazed Nate so there was no trouble from that....
The second he got to his corner before even sitting he said he could not see.....this was something that happened instantly and I think it spooked Nate because like he said it was something he never experienced...was not like it was blood in the eye

I've sat thinking about this at work all afternoon and i'm seriosuly hopin that nate gets a rematch. Bradley was winning but no way was he giving Nate a beating atall. He was beating more glove than anything, doin an Amir Khan job on him.... Ha

Glad to hear there's no permanent damage. If he can prove what he is saying (which I'm sure he can), the decision might well be overturned.

I don't see it that way. I had Nate winning one of the first three rounds although I could see it going to Bradley. Also, against Diaz, through round 5 or so, Diaz was easily getting the better of Nate, but Nate came on strong in the end. I don't see how anyone watching the fight could say it was Bradley's fight. It wasn't even halfway done and really without the flurry at the end of round three, the fight looked close even with Bradley in the lead. Nate is a consummate warrior if he said he couldn't fight on, he couldn't fight on. He didn't make weight against Funeka, but fought anyway - unlike Guzman when Guzman was lined up to fight Nate.
The fight should be declared a no contest or a draw and there should be a rematch.
I had Nate losing the first 3. He just was getting out worked. I believe the guy. Why risk blindness to prove your heart? From what I have read/heard from the guy, he's one of the good guys- full of intergrity. I know due to how the fight started it looks like an easy out for Nate, but I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

How long do injuries like these take to heal?
I'm just wondering how long in the future a rematch would be should the decision be overturned and one be ordered.

Nates full of crap. He saw that he was in with a guy who was going to keep punching and punching and punching--and he was looking for a way out. These two could fight ten times and Nate would lose ten times. When one guy is nearing his peak/prime and the other guy has passed his, the inflection point always favors the former (with a few exceptions, of course). Nate was looking at the ref throughout the fight. It was obvious he knew he was in for a good ass whupping--at least to me it was. Nate has become a primo headcase.

Alot running through the grey matter but will have to ramble on after work.I dont doubt the mans heart & his professionalism....nor do I doubt his savvy when it comes to experiencing the dark under belly that is boxings mind games...or as Lennox Lewis deemed them, politricks. And I do believe that guile played a part of his hastiness to call for....by himself....the stoppage without any examination or treatment given by the doctor or cutman. You roll the dice when you enter the ring, and you roll them in other fashions also.Knowing what we know-hear now his fans must take him at his word...and at the end of the day thats what a man has to stand on.Was it strategy, was it a bit of legit panic and concern, was it pride etc & not wanting a tko on his resume in this manner? Thats all on him now.......bottom line is that when a fighter says he cannot see to a doctor, fight is over. But the one thing that sticks with me is him viewing the cut on the overhead screen, turning the head looking at it and only then saying he could not see over and over and all but demanding a stoppage.I have always liked Nate and will continue to do so,just putting it out there.
One thing thats getting the shaft here Imo is Bradley. The man is a solid professional and faces all comers and has proven himself worthy of the Title Champion. He's taking alot of shit frankly and aside from getting his back up in the interview after Nate and others all but put him in a corner,he's conducted himself with respect and is showing improvement in his ability. The mantra pertaining to him as of late seems to be "hes not great at one thing but good at many things" nothing explosive and maybe a bit vanilla but I personally believe he's on his way to changing that and should be a face we should get used too!
