Can't be that much of a joke as The Ring also rates him.

Latimore got rated in with his last fight being a loss, sure he had the Powell victory also but that's not what got him in, it was how he performed in his last bout with Spinks. Just like Mayol's last performance against Calderon!
I didn't vote for the Latimore spot either. Point of fact is that 108 is a very weak division right now, most of the guys that I would like to consider for this position have moved up. The Ring's rankings don't matter to me in justifying how we rank a fighter.
Just using Latimore as an example, just because you didn't vote doesn't make it any less of a reality.

I agree 108 is extremely weak, hence the reason I voted for a guy who performed well against our best guy & a P4P guy to boot!

Again just using The Ring Ratings as an example, just because you disagree with something doesn't make it a joke. We all have different opinions & we're not always going to agree, which makes the voting system so good imo

But I stand by my initial vote, Mayol fought pretty much even up with Calderon (our #1 & also on the P4P) over the completed rounds. Its not his fault the fight was stopped (I feel he would have lost had it continued), but as it is he could have easily got the decision, he stepped in the ring, fought the best in the division & didn't leave with a loss. In a weak division that's more than enough to earn a vacant position.

I apologize for going overboard with the joke statement. I am making my case strongly because we have a tie (a tie with very little time left.)
As it stands now VD is going to have to break the tie and if he sticks with leave it vacant he essentially gets a triple vote on this. I am fine with the decision he has made, but it would be good to at least have another person vote on it.

Latimore fight went 12 rounds. It was a complete effort. It was also a fight many (myself included) felt he should of got the win.

Mayol did well for 6 rounds. Half a fight. There's no telling what would of happened in the 2nd half of the fight. I can't rank him based on a incomplete effort.
