well said, the brutal revenge he took on both these men ADDS to his legacy. Lennox has better names on his record than any other heavy of the last 30 years (it seems weird that 1980 was almost 30 years ago!)

Ali and Holmes were still fighting 30 years ago. Are you saying Lennox Lewis has a better resume than those 2? Like I say, Brits tend to overrate their fighters into something which they are not, we all saw this with Ricky Hatton, but at least Hatton fought 2 great fighters in their prime while Lewis beat the 2 biggest names in the HW ranks when they were shot and/or old.

As for Ricky Hatton, everyday there is a thread about "If Ricky Hatton was in his prime" blah blah blah. Face it everyone outside of the UK thought the guy was overrated. What's funny is that you guys think that if Hatton was in his prime or whatever it is he could beat Floyd, Pacman, Shane Mosely, Cotto, Williams, etc. The only good name on his record was a 36 year old KT and a shot Phillips.

The Ring magazine and the boxing writers association of America didn't think Hatton was overrated when awarding him titles. So persons outside of the UK clearly rated him.

Yep i said Lennox had a better record than any heavy in the last 30 years. You point out Ali and Holmes were still fighting in 1980, But Ali had a great record in the 80s didn't he? And i don't think its laughable to say that Lewis has a better record than Holmes, arguable yea, but not laughable. If you look at fights and results in the heavyweight division since 1980 I think Lewis would come out top in a subjective judgement. Your point about Ali still fighting in 1980 is about as relevent to my point as saying that Klitscho hasn't had the best record in the division in the last 5 years because Holyfield has still been fighting in that time. Or that Trinidad isn't the dominant welterweight of the last 12 years because Roberto Duran has fought in that time (Although its fair to argue against that for other reasons).
