Carlos Monzon was only 2 inches taller, i like Carlos Monzon. But he was a bit robotic. And he didn't have much punch variety. He did pack a punch and had great stamina for his life style, aswell as a great chin.

But i feel the early version of Marvin Hagler, the one that was a great boxer. Who sticked and moved and counter punched very well. Would outbox the much more robotic Carlos Monzon IMO.

The thing with Monzon was he barely trained for a fight, was a chain smoking, boozing, womaniser who, if he had put his mind to it would have been even more formidable. He even got shot by his second wife in 1973 and still managed to have 14 successful title defences. No doubt a Hagler V Monzon match up would have been amazing to watch.

When it comes to height always go with the lowest figure. Still do not buy the fact that Monzon did not train hard. It is impossible to achieve what he did otherwise. Hagler could out box and out work Monzon and avoid his big right hand, even if it did land Hagler would take it, after all, he took Hearns bombs.
