I have watched and it's sucks. The WWE looks more believable. They throw some dude on the canvas then pound his ass. Then it's over. Who ever throws the other guy first wins. How gay is that? Boxing is art, It's skill and talent. MMA is B.S.

Hey watch I can do it too....Boxing is just two guys with no shirts on slapping each other with pillows on their hands then hugging half the round when they are tired. Anybody can master just one sport. Mixed martial artists have to be trained in several disciplines....Sounds kind of ignorant doesn't it? Just to point out some world class athletes in MMA

    Fedor- World Sambo Champion
Yoshida- Olympic Gold Medalist in Judo
    Akiyama- World Judo Champion
    Couture/Henderson- Olympic Greco Roman Wrestlers
Coleman/Randleman/Lesnar etc- NCAA All American Wrestlers and Champions
Mark Hunt- K1 Gran Prix Kickboxing Champion
    BJ Penn- World BJJ Champ
    Monson- Abu Dhabi Champ
    Mirko Filipovic- K1 Kickboxer

hmmm...Looks like some pretty decorated athletes. You don't find the sport entertaining we get it but to suggest that it's top practitioners are not world class athletes who posses a tremendous amount of skill that spans multiple fighting disciplines is flat out ignorant. You want to talk about MMA please stay and post but if your sole purpose is to come to the forum to bash fighters who go out and give it there all then go back to the boxing forum I am sure you will find plenty of people to validate your feelings of insecurity.

I think you've only seen Royce Gracie in his good years to say something like that, it's pretty much different now and more than often, the guy on the canvas knows how to survive a charge, many are even able to submit the guy on the top. I have no problems with you not liking it but your statement is completely untrue.

I do respect MMA, and I do watch it sometimes, but boxing is still aesthetically more pleasing to me.

But there is another thing I notice. That MMA attracts certain demographics of society more. For instance most fans are 18-30 years old and Orientals and whites seems to be the biggest fans of this sport. It's just an observation, nothing more nothing less.

I can understand why some think it's shit but i only recently started watching it and have persevered with it and now understand some of the ground moves a bit more so have started to wenjoy some bouts.

Like boxing though you do get some really crap fights that are just two guys rolling about a lot.

Overall I like the presentation , and the five minute rounds are pretty testing during a good bout.

Oh and the girls who do the rounds cards............

He knocked out a old fat washed up MMA fighter in what was basically a boxing match with 8 oz gloves. Ray also got his ass kicked handily by a very limited Kimbo Slice. Wanna try again?

It's simply different stroke for different folks, I think if you try to understand the ground game then it makes a lot more sense. If you have never been into wrestling or martial arts it will obviously seem like a lot of rolling around. But concentrate on some of the submissions it it can get pretty interesting.

Some have made slightly confusing points about people getting pounded and it being all that happens then the guy gets knocked out.....isn't that what we primarily like to see in boxing , one guy pounding the other for a knockout, only difference is they are standing.

In the end we all have opnions on different sports, if you don't like it don't watch it. I hate motor sports, so I don't watch, fairly simple.

As for WWE being more real........mmm

I would love to see Kimbo Slice get in the boxing ring. Mercer is 47 years old. He's been washed up in Boxing for years. All a guy has to do is trip the other guy, pound his ass and the so call fight is over. I don't see the skill in that.

Just b/c you are too ignorant to see the skill in MMA doesn't mean its not there. Mercer was your example not mine, that being said Kimbo is not a skilled fighter and Tim Sylvia is as washed up as they come.

I agree with VanChilds here, Sylvia is shot as it can be, perhaps he needs a 3 years pause to get back on top (perhaps) but for the moment, he just doesn',t get it. Mercer has been a bit lucky too, would Sylva have gone for the take down, it was over, MMA is more complete and gives you more tools in every different situations possible, boxing = extremely good only in some stand up situations. If you give me the choice, in a struggle for my life if I want to be a master boxer or a master MMA, I take the second choice within nanoseconds.

As stated, you aren't the ONLY one. That being said, a lot of people don't appreciate MMA because they don't realize the skill involved on the ground. I have trained in MMA, and being on the ground is actually more difficult than stand-up (there are just so many ways to lose, and you cannot rest or back off your opponent).

It is simply different than boxing, not necessarily better, nor worse, but it is different skills.
