Of course it has to do with politics but I think one can have an opinion on a politician in favor or against without it being soley based on that politicians party. The list of my country's leaders that I dislike goes well beyond any party affiliation. I don't think anyone likes being labeled and if I were to make an incorrect assumption I'd expect them to correct me.

So who's a conservative leader you don't like?

I'm not a fan of just about any of the major Republican leaders. I don't like Grassely, Hutchinson, Mcconel or Demint all that much. I don't particularly care for Governor Perry. I think our last president and just about all of his cabinet minus Gates were crap. Especially just about anyone involved in the planning of the Iraq invasion. I can't stand Rush or Hannity. I tend to lean right on issues of states rights, size and scope of federal governemt, immigration and gun rights so yes politically I hold more of the same ideals as the GOP but very little of its current members are doing the right things. It really pisses me off that they (much like any party out of power) simply snipes at the President's policies w/o offering real genuine solutions to the problems our country faces. That being said I can disagree with a politician w/o personally disliking him. To me Frank comes off as a smug santimonious jerk any time I've heard him speak and I think his involvement with Fannie Mae borders on criminal. CGM wasn't speaking to me personally so I was wrong to retort the way I did but his post coming directly after me definitely insinuated that to dislike Frank must be based on his party affiliation.

Fair enough, I'm not really a fan of anyone at the moment. I don't hear anything from either side that makes me say "I can get behind that". I think Frank is by far and large is a douche, but in this instance one thing he said that I wish people would listen to is "You can be mad and still have a rational debate"

    yes. so?

    lol

that is the thing. most of us (left leaning obv, not the moral superior righty base )don 't care if a person takes it in the butt, so long as that don't somehow equate to them being a lying manipulator, lowest form of socially judgemental hypocrite. Ya know, like them red state folks who are all against the bad sex stuff and all, yet run the highest amount of porn activity on the web. Who get in positions like child advocacy, then start trying to hook up with their sexy young boy interns, etc etc. Then cry like that Fukhead Jimmy Swaggart when caught with the midget taking a shit on their chest (LOL or w/e happened) and beg forgiveness in the name of God, so they can get back to doing what they do. Judging others. And ya know, making the world a better place one false self-modelled moral judgement at a time and calling it politics. According to some fake ass god fabricated in the minds of their limited intelligence and understanding.

But this is just a bit of light-hearted musing. Not passing judgements.

So what? He's an idiot from the ultimate limousine liberal district. You're first point about him being a big part about what screwed the economy was good. Saying that makes you sound like a bigot. You're too better than that, Lyle.

Instead, why not point out the closest this country has ever come to universal health care was a Nixon plan, supported by Ted Kennedy, that was killed by LIBERAL labor unions who did not want to lose health insurance as a bargaining chip and didn't give a damn about the non-union working class.

If Obama had any stones at all, he's answer back with cold hard facts instead of trying to create a single payer plan in a backdoor, sleazy way (and I promise you, that what will we will have in 10 years if this thing goes through). Only it won't work, because it's not being done right. If that's what you want, go out on the line and say it. The solution to the problem is clear as day, but neither side wants to lead on the issue and everybody is clouding the debate will emotion and foolishness.

nah bud, you weren't wrong in speaking your mind. I was just a little skeptical that there was no political motivation at all in your remarks. But don't take that personally. I have noticed your participation in political debates, and I see a tendency to a certain side of the political spectrum, and that should come as a surprise. If I were to examine all of my own remarks I might have to say something similar about myself.

Anyways, this is politics. At the end of the day there should be no hard feelings.
