I wouldn't mind seeing this fight really and I would be rooting for Jones Jr all the way. I don't actually think it would be beyond belief to see Jones pulling off the win. Both guys have a reduced output and take their time between punches and I'm not convinced that Hopkins has the power to put away Jones Jr whatsoever. I can see it being a relatively close fight. Jones Jr has the obvious handspeed advantages and is fighting canny these days. Hopkins might win rounds, but I can see Jones edging more of them with his combinations and flash.

I can see it being a bit of a chess match just like it would have been at any time of their careers.. A different sort of matchup compared to 10 - 15 years ago, but still it wouldn't be the most boring fight of the year...

I would pay to see it before i would pay to see B-Hop fight the others he mentioned. I agree B-hop got his azs handed to him in the interview. You must think Roy will beat you again if you wont take the lions share of the 60/40 split.

60% to the winner sounds really good..If BHOP feels he can't loose he would simply say BRING IT ON! But Looks like he doesn't want to loose on both ends...On the cash and in the ring..

I think these guys hate each other so much that they will not fight one another again. Similar to the fact that there will be no EM v MAB IV.

The reinvention continues .All Jones had to do after Hopkins beat Pavlik was defeat Calzaghe. He lost and looked every bit a deteriorated fighter.Hopkins was all over the place talking Roy up,literally prior to and at ringside.Jones brings a name and some added fan attraction ....how packed was that arena for the Lacy fight?...but Hopkins will face a more current and lively threat in either Dawson or Adamek than he will in Jones at this point.Who called who again?

The thing is that money is the most important thing to these two. Otherwise hating the other person is the best reason in my mind for wanting to fight them. Who wouldn't want to be paid to hit someone you hate?

Tbh, Hopkins just says what everyone here has been saying for months. Adamek, Dawson & Williams are all far greater challenges & names at this stage for his career. That Roy is still fighting is a crying shame. Yes, he beat Sheika & Lacy, but his fall from the fighter he once was is tragic, particularly as there are 'fans' who encourage another of our greats to fight well beyond. It's the same as people who claim that Hatton would beat everyone bar PBF & Pac. Jones dressin up as a pirate is the greatest evidence of how far he has fallen

That's the best you can come up with? Weren't people saying if he hyped fights like that in his prime he'd have been even bigger?

That's the best I can come up with??! You really thought that was good promotion?? The fact is Jones can sell himself well, using his mouth, he doesn't need to dress up like a dick to do it. Yes, in his prime he didn't want to do much to promote his fights, but all he had to do was spew off a few minutes worth of stuff similar to that podcast & he woulda been good. Dressing up like a pirate now just makes him look desperate, people would say the same thing if any boxer did that to try & promote a fight

This can actually be a good one; why boxers cannot be paid 60 for the winner and 40 for the looser in even fights, unifications, etc?? I feel that this is fair, and if a popular boxer does not prepare for the fight and loose, then he will take the pay he deserves. This should also apply for other fights where a boxer who is the clear favorite and now may win 80 or 90, and the opponent 10/20. Then the favorite/popular knows that he has to prepare well or the can loose the big $$$. The winner takes the bigger part, no matter it is 60/40 or 90/10. This will reward fairly boxers that worked hard to win an upset; this would be also a motivation for fighters to be better prepared. This should increase the chances for greater fights and better entertainment.

It is a bit like Hatton v Witter. Ricky hates him so much he does not want him to have a pay day.
