The thing is that money is the most important thing to these two. Otherwise hating the other person is the best reason in my mind for wanting to fight them. Who wouldn't want to be paid to hit someone you hate?
    Exactly. It's a rivalry.
It is a bit like Hatton v Witter. Ricky hates him so much he does not want him to have a pay day.

I used to side with BHop on this but now after actually hearing the conversation between the two instead reading quotes its clear that BHop knows even RJJ at this point doesn't bode well with his style. Saying Dawson or Adamek would be a better fight is useless to counter with because BHop said he would take the RJJ fight if he can get 60% but BHop doesn't want the fight if 60% goes to the winner. He is either very uncertain of himself and/or he just wants to avoid the fight by way of overpricing.

    That was worth the listen

Hopkins made himself look like a complete mug. He was on that show to promote Diaz-Powderpuff yet ended up putting the phone down before fully plugging it and his time was up.

Hopkins just showed LEGACY means fuck-all compared to money. If he really wanted to avenge the loss to Jones why not make the fight? The way Hopkins carries on anyone would think he has the win over Jones.

    Too right.

Hopkins looked like a prize prat. Jones is obviously in boxing because he likes it, Hopkins is an old git doing it for pay days. Take the fight BHop, after all if you win you have 60%.

But then again, he isn't so sure of himself at all is he now?

Pfft, beating Roy at this point wouldn't do anything for his legacy anyway. Nobody would act like they were really even, like Bernard's win now would be equivalent to Roy's win, and rightfully so, it wouldn't be a big deal.

Beating Adamek for example would do more legacy wise.

And Miles, seriously? Jones is in it for the money. That's exactly why he wants Bernard.

Yeah but it would be great if Roy beat him again, i'd be able to read people saying Roy beat Hopkins when he was too green and too old but would have never beat him in his prime

I don't think Hopkins is scared to face Roy again.

I honestly think he would see getting paid MORE than him a bigger victory than actually winning the fight.

Its more of a lose-lose for Bernard than it is Roy. Bernard has more options than Roy in general, and the outcome of a second Roy fight could do more to make Bernard look bad than it does good. A loss to a shot Roy, his second loss to Roy would look bad. A win, meh, its a shot Roy and it doesn't make them equal since Roy had the more important win. If Bernard could truly get revenge over Roy it might be different, assuming he cares about that which he probably does, but that's not really the case here.

Bernard is a smart guy, unless this comes out to be clearly more money than he would make somewhere else he'll probably look elsewhere.

Would people really rather see this than Bernard-Adamek, or Bernard-Dawson? Not that I think he'll fight Dawson but you never know.

I don't really see the Hopkins options you see, nor see them as winning options.

Adamak would likely bloody Hopkins for the first time proper and Dawson would or should outwork him.

They are not big money fights for anyone.

Jones Hopkins would actually generate some interest and a little bit of money. And I dont see Hopkins having his own way at all. Hopkins isn't all that at all. Especially at 45. Pretty sad seeing him go on this long really. The whole legend thing is not for me at all, especially having such issues with Taylor and calling out everyone over 170 when they should be at 160.

...have a tournament with all these old fighters let them fight it out and them make them all retire. Hopkins is a guy who out of his last six has lost three, while jones is beating up on omar freakin shieka and others not much better and neither can beat calzaghe. This retarded argument is about 10 years too late. I'd like to see both go away, and take holyfield and james toney with you. Anything other than either of them saying they want to fight dawson is just blah blah blah...
