Its more of a lose-lose for Bernard than it is Roy. Bernard has more options than Roy in general, and the outcome of a second Roy fight could do more to make Bernard look bad than it does good. A loss to a shot Roy, his second loss to Roy would look bad. A win, meh, its a shot Roy and it doesn't make them equal since Roy had the more important win. If Bernard could truly get revenge over Roy it might be different, assuming he cares about that which he probably does, but that's not really the case here.
Bernard is a smart guy, unless this comes out to be clearly more money than he would make somewhere else he'll probably look elsewhere.
Would people really rather see this than Bernard-Adamek, or Bernard-Dawson? Not that I think he'll fight Dawson but you never know.

I don't really see the Hopkins options you see, nor see them as winning options.
Adamak would likely bloody Hopkins for the first time proper and Dawson would or should outwork him.
They are not big money fights for anyone.
Jones Hopkins would actually generate some interest and a little bit of money. And I dont see Hopkins having his own way at all. Hopkins isn't all that at all. Especially at 45. Pretty sad seeing him go on this long really. The whole legend thing is not for me at all, especially having such issues with Taylor and calling out everyone over 170 when they should be at 160.

Surely a legacy looks better if you beat the guys that beat you?
Roy has been in HBO PPVs with Calzaghe and Tito over the past few years. Dawson and Adamek can't be half as big a name to that audience?
Dawson can't get recognised in his own street and Hopkins/Golden Boy thought Adamek was worth about $250,000 when they started negotiations, right?

Money yeah sadly enough it probably would be the biggest money fight, by how much I guess is the question.
Legacy no I just don't buy that. Yes it helps your legacy when you beat a guy you lost to but these are different circumstances, when Roy's got in with an elite or eliteish guy in the last 4 or 5 years he's gotten mauled. Bernard would be the object of ridicule if he lost this. Adamek is the man at Cruiserweight and weight jumps always help. Dawson's one of the best young fighters in the sport. Those are certainly bigger wins than Roy now, either guy would handle Roy for what its worth.

From a hardcore boxing fans perspective they would be more significant wins, but i'm surprised from a fighters view he wouldn't want to reverse a defeat.
Even if Hopkins is considered the best P4P in history he still has a loss to Jones (like Roy said).
Lets be real though - Hopkins doesn't really give a shit about legacy, he's looking for the biggest (winnable) money fights. I'm sure he would fight Jones if he could get a guarantee on his wonga.

I totally disagree that he "doesn't give a shit about his legacy", but I think we've had this debate before and I don't want to get too much into it again, I agree money comes first but I find it hard to believe that a guy like Hopkins doesn't care about his legacy at all.
I'm sure most guys would like to erase their losses but I suspect Hopkins knows Roy is a bit of a lose-lose fight for him. Outside of the money of course. If its just a lot more money he'll probably take it. I can't see the demand being that great though.
