If he sticks to the Diaz's and the Khan's of the world, he should be ok (though I think Khan can and will beat him), but I can't see him surviving against big punchers at this point.

Would be nice for him to have a good local fight only to have the shit kicked out of him again by some club fighter
Good to hear that he'll carry on. I know people want him to jump into a big fight but I'd rather him fight a fringe contender to get that confidence back and for him to see where he is.
Get a win under his belt then fight someone like Juan Diaz.

I hope not. I have this feeling that the first time he gets hit flush (no matter from whom), it will be the end. Why chance it? For God's sakes Ricky, stop--if not for yourself, for your family and fans. Pugilistica dementia has no conscience, mate. Ask Bobby Chacon, the Quarry's, Jimmy Young, Willie Pep, Aaron Pryor, and way too many others who are no longer with us or are in bad shape.

Have the feeling he'll end up with Juan Diaz. Not sure where he will be mentally and physically but wouldn't mind he and Bradley going at it.
A much better chance with Diaz. Bradley is peaking and is way too fit and fast for him IMO.
Diaz may be done. If Ricky could cut him early, he might have a decent chance of mugging him, but I just don't see how he can come back after having been concussed the way he was from Manny.

Think your right about a Bradley fight. Two guys going in opposite directions.Diaz/Hatton has the style not to mention promotional attraction, think GB really wants it.Both guys sliding fast.Diaz not a big puncher but he wobbled Marquez and Paulie off lefthooks.Could be bad news for Hatton.
he fight a couple of the lesser fighters to start with and stay at 140lb
You gotta be kidding. Juan Diaz would be worse for Hatton than Bradley. With Bradley it would be over quick, the damage relatively minimal. Diaz is not a one-punch KOer, he would pound Hatton over the course of many rounds until Hatton retired on his stool or God forbid, it went to a very lopsided decision. Diaz would do a lot more damage because he can't knock Hatton out with one punch like Bradley would.
Oops
Yeah, i have the same feeling. To be honest i had it after the Mayweather fight, then the Lazcano (Hatton was SO close to getting sparked in that) fight made me sure he'd go next time he was hit by a guy with a decent dig. So whilst i enjoyed his performance vs Mallinaggi fight it didn't answer the BIG question. Lo and behold, the next time he fights a guy with a decent dig...BANG! he's gone. I fear that would be repeated VS Khan or Diaz.

Forgive me if you've addressed this later, but I'm responding on my first run through this thread. But.....
You think Hatton doesn't deserved to get bludgeoned at this stage? Did you think that Kostya deserved to be literally bludgeoned by Hatton at that stage of his career? I say its karma!
No i didn't think Kostya deserved to be bludgeoned. I don't think any fighter does. So Hatton getting battered now would be karma? Karma for what? I don't think he commited a crime by beating KT.
Also, going into the fight Kostya was in good form, and hadn't really shown much sign of deteriation. The same cannot be said for Hatton. But regardless, i don't see how Hatton deserves the 'karma' of taking a beating just because he beat KT.

I was speaking more from the perspective of my lack of respect for the tactics that Hatton was allowed to use for the majority of his career.
In my original post I never said he "deserved" anything. I simply asked if KT deserved what he got. On the contrary, I think Hatton has gotten more than he deserved.
I don't want Hatton to be hurt, nor do I want him to fight again. But if he decides to and gets mugged/rough-housed into submission by a younger fighter, then clearly this an example of karma.
But your first post implied somehow that as i don't think Hatton deserves to get bludgened by the likes of Khan, i thought KT did deserve it.
In fact, i'm not saying Hatton is any different to any other boxer, its always sad to see a proud champion beaten into retirement, especially by an inferior boxer. But there are a couple of differences between the KT situation and the Hatton one. Firstly, Kostya had good form going into the Hatton fight whilst Hatton doesn't have good form going into a possible Khan fight. Secondly, Hatton is a better fighter than Khan. So Hatton was a more worthy final opponent for Kostya than Khan would be for Hatton.
