Still seems real brash to me. Bragging about his home ("it's all paid..."), rolling dice with wads of cash with his family, still being connected to crimes. Nothing seems to have changed with Mayweather at all. So he was filmed giving food to homeless. Not very sincere. He basically was throwing it at the homeless like you throw food at animals at the zoo. Marquez was/is much more humble and real to me.

dude your just being a hater... So Floyd cant play dice with his family and have a sense of accomplishment in his life. Obviously money means alot to him, maybe your like me and you have no desire to be rich and live in the fast lane but he is doing what he pleases with his hard earned cash.

As far as Floyds charity work, unlike most I read all the Mayweather news not just the hate fuel that circulated, I have been aware of his charity work and giving back for a while now enough to know that clip on 24 wasnt a one time PR stunt..

My point of the thread was, he has been more fan friendly, been cordial and less surly with his brashness to the media(excluding Brian Kenny which you can tell had a bit of showmanship by both parties) and HASNT said a disparaging word about Marquez nothing but respect and class. Even Roger hasnt said a peep about Nacho.

Very nice promotion, hope this is what Floyd chooses to stay with, its the real him and is a great balance between being respectful and showcasing his flashy lifestyle. He is gaining in popularity you can tell and will probably start solidifying it more if he dominates JMM in an exciting way. I think that will sway the people even more.

If both can get past their opponents you have the perfect stage set for a Pac PBF showdown, because of how nauseating SOME of Pac's fans can be coupled with Roaches opportunistic caniving to put Pac's opponents at a disadvantage I can see Floyd getting a big push in popularity and support

it always was showmanship from him, he's a decent guy IMO. They are one SERIOUSLY dysfunctional family though, it's brilliant television.

Why must I be a hater when I am simply calling it like I see it? Mayweather seems the same to me in every way. True, he is more subdued this time, but I believe that is because Marquez is not very loud, flamboyant, or media/fan friendly as Hatton was. If he was, you would see Floyd's antics/behavior more blatantly than you see them now, trying to outdo Marquez and be the loudest at the party. When Cotto beats Pac and Floyd is forced to fight him, Floyd will probably be more subdued as well since Cotto has that laid-back, professional style about him that won't incite attention starved people like Floyd.

In terms of the money issue, you can still have a sense of accomplishment without bragging about what you have. I don't see these rich celebrities bragging about what they have. It makes Floyd more unlikable IMO.

So you dislike brash, flashy boxers? You must have really got irritated by Trinidad then.

When Floyd came & did an open workout session in London, he was very open with fans as you could see if you unearth Smashup's thread on it. Let's face it with some people, he could rescue babies from a burning building & people would still say he was being arrogant.

On your point, maybe he just respects Marquez more than Hatton or Oscar, guys whose popularity was disproportionate to their talent.

Sorry, but "class" is not a word that comes to mind when I think of PBF. I don't hate him, and he does seem slightly less obnoxious, but he's still the same cocky mf'er he always was. I'm sure most of it is just showmanship but still......

Not really dude. Floyd and Tito were totally different. Tito flashy? He never bragged about how much money he had. Never saw him rolling dice with Papa Trinidad up against a wall in El Morro. Never saw him counting his cash in front of the camera (Mo' Money Tito? I don't think so!). Tito was always a better people person than Floyd. Tito was more endearing than Floyd. I've never seen/heard Floyd thrill a crowd like Tito (see vs. Mayorga @ MSG). Tito fought for his country and his fans? Mayweather? You know the answer. He ain't fighting for JT Rock or JazzMerkin. I don't mind Floyd's confidence in himself. But his behavior reveals a deep seated inferiority complex/low self esteem IMO, if you analyze it psychologically.

First of all I really don't understand your problem with playing craps. It's something a lot of people do, it's hardly an indication of being 'flashy' especially playing it with his dad. It's a game a lot of people play, it's just like playing poker with your family. Your right Tito must never have bragged about 'beating up Oscar' or 'how he would destroy the Middleweights & then Roy Jones'. Although 'special' wraps give you that confidence. I remember him being extremely flashy & then some, but I quite like that in a boxer, but to act like he wasn't like that is just self-deceiving. So Tito fought solely for his country & fans, not for any kind of money. Hence his 'comebacks' . If only we'd had 24/7 back in the days he was fighting.

You may never have seen Floyd thrill a crowd like Tito, but you probably ain't been looking. Look for his workout session in London (another country), where after a 4 hour session, he came out to the 1000+ crowd who'd waited outside to sign stuff for an hour. You can find the footage on skysports.com. The fact is Mayweather is a very popular figure, certainly amongst much of the young black community in Britain, & I'm guessing if here, than probably in the States as well, & certainly gave his fans the impression that fights for them, when he said exactly that. Dislike the guy fine, but don't try & twist things to fit your agenda when he's not playing the part you want.

I fail to see how that is a problem
