The internet, in about 95 percent cases, connects me to boxing. Thats my avenue, and i'm damn sure i'm not alone. If it wasn't for the omnipresence of boxing on the internet, it would certainly have one less fan, and probably countless others. I think they should give Teddy Atlas a job somewhere else hidden away where he can take his uber metaphoric ass and tell someone who gives a shit.........
Teddy is an idiot, and needs to get with the times.
If it wasn't for the internet, I wouldn't know most of what is going on in boxing. The network he works for, sure as $hit doesn't give it enough coverage.
I can honestly say that I have learned a lot from some writers, and even from some members here. How is that a bad thing.
Maybe he does need to get with the times a little but i think the point he is making is that an article like this...
Put your money on Juan Manuel Marquez
Is complete garbage and that it does not represent the a true, popular or well thought fact or opinion.
Its just words without restriction.
I can see why someone like Teddy would hate such a thing. It is all we have but at the same time it sucks a little bit. Right?

Internet for boxing is a must. Boxing's not even my favorite sport but its the one I use the internet for the most by far, I don't post on forums for other sports much if ever because I know tons of people that follow them, I can just talk to them about it, I don't have anybody to talk to about boxing, to say that some of my friends are casual fans is really a stretch, they know who Roy Jones is, ODLH, etc. I would never bother to try to talk them into seeing say Bernard Hopkins, zzzz.
Plus I come from a boxing wasteland, its not like if you were born in California or even England. Vegas is a long way away. So is Atlantic City, New York, etc.
That's not to say we don't have some baffling people on this board or the boxing internets at large.
Does being the hometown and base of operations for Deontay Wilder make my area not a boxing wasteland? Probably not. But its better than before when our claim to fame was a guy who got blitzed by Audley in 1.
It's cool when you get an area boxer who everyone kind of knows. Most sports fans in the Bay Area know Andre Ward imo. The sampling there is the people who come to the Applebees bar and start talking sports, I always bring up Ward to see if they follow boxing. Most know him as the guy from the Olympics and that he had a fight in Oakland. The Miranda fight got pretty big publicity over here. It's cool.
