yea that's funny, Oscar outboxed Trinidad and made him look a fool for 9 rounds straight, Trinidad and his dad ran from the idea of a rematch as if it were the swine flu, but yea Margarito and Cotto would beat the DLH of now, but DLH in his prime at 147 would have owned and completely schooled both of them

My opinion of Cotto has changed a bit since then, I am not sure anybody schools Cotto with Oscar's style, but I still think Oscar's better chin and power would carry the fight, but as a tactician Cotto is better than Trinidad, he handles movement better, IMO he has a bigger punch arsenal, and he goes to the body so well. Trinidad could have been gunning for a second ODLH fight, but Oscar did make him look completely foolish for 9 rounds, and I think even the current Oscar would do 10x better against Cotto than how he did against Pacquiao because its completely different having a guy there to be hit.

Before Oscar fought Trinidad, who did Oscar "box"? No one that I can remember. Oscar was a KO specialist, except he changed his style for Tito. You've got to be stupid to think you've won a fight after 9 rounds, especially against a Don King fighter. And Oscar's "boxing" wasn't even that impressive. Pitty-patting all night and flurrying in the last ten seconds of each round. Big deal. I have seen better boxing displays, like when Hopkins outboxed and then took out Tito or when Leonard outboxed AND landed MANY power shots on Hagler. The only thing Oscar did well that night was avoid Tito's power shots. He did not finish the job.

And from what I remember, Trinidad wanted the rematch, but at 154, and Oscar started playing that catch-weight shit, wanting to fight Tito at 151. I also remember Tito wanted a bigger percentage of the money than he got for the first fight and you know Oscar ain't having that. So I don't know where you are getting your "facts" about Trinidad. Even in recent years, Oscar wanted Tito to come down to 154 and fight as opposed to meet him at a higher weight. Sounds pretty scared to me. Trinidad never ran from anybody, you should know that. Not even Hopkins. Tito took his beating from the bigger man like a man. The same can't be said about Oscar. The first sign of serious trouble, he either runs (Tito), fakes a hard/debilitating liver shot (Hopkins), or quits (Manny). But let me not digress too much.

I agree that the Oscar of THEN would defeat Cotto and Margarito, maybe KO Cotto, but not KO Margarito. I think that Oscar would start "boxing" after 8 or 9 rounds against Margarito, but still get the victory.

Oscar was a boxer puncher, especially once Mayweather Snr took over, Oscar outboxed Mosley in their second fight, he outboxed Tito in their fight, he was moving around not allowing Tito to get off and landing a few punches.

I don't think Oscar was super effective like Hopkins was against Tito, but he was certainly more effective than Tito was and landed a lot more punches.

I can't disagree. Tito simply did not adapt once he realized that Oscar was not going to fight. There was no plan B. Still a close fight due to Oscar's stupidity at the end.

Oscar won at least 8 of the first 9 rounds. Even accounting for his last few rounds, that still should have been 116-112 at best. It was a huge robbery IMO
