Default Hopkins Jones 2 in the works

According to a new interview with bernard hopkins on boxingtalk.com hopkins vs jones 2 is closer to being done than ever before with a 55- 45 split in hopkins favour i believe. I wouldve loved to see this around 2002-03 but i still think its an exciting matchup today. I think bernard takes this one if the the fight gets made.

It's a fight that is past it's sell by date, but it does have a lot of the curiosity factor about it. I would love to see Jones Jr. get the win. It would be very funny.

They have been saying this for a decade. And watch out, boxingtalk is the king of posting baseless rumors.

Ya, if there were ever a "I'll believe it when I see it" fight, this is the one.

This fight would of been great 10 years ago, but now it's too late. Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins are two of my favorite fighters, but sadly Roy has seen better days. Bernard thanks to his master defense counter punching style has been able to stay on top despite his age. While Roy has trouble now that his speed is not as freakish as it once was and his power gone. He however does possess some RJJ(unique style) boxing skills that still keeps him competitive against some good fighters. But against an elite fighter against Hopkins he will get over-match. Roy time to hang them up, you have done everything there can be done from middle to heavyweight and their will never be another Roy Jones like you.....B-Hop keep kicking ass... amazes me how he still still p4p at his age. I picked him against Tarver, and Pavlik .

Same thing. I would have liked to have seen this a few years back. But what the hell why not do it now. They should both be paid very well if they did fight.

Jones Tarver IV in the works... And Glen Johnson vs C Woods 4 is just around the corner.

This fight is never going to happen because they genuinely don't like each other and will never budge when it comes to the purse.

Plus, it's way too late for this one...

I think it will happen and I think it will be an interesting fight. This fight should be the last for both of them when its all said and done. I really have no interest in a Hopkins vs Dawson fight because I think it will be another decision fight for the younger Dawson ala Jermaine Taylor fight. Jones vs Danny Green is pointless because whats the point and Jones at 40 years old will have trouble making the Cruiser limit at this stage to be effective like he was at Heavyweight. And yes I left out G Johnson because I think Dawson will beat him again. Jones vs Hopkins is a grudge fight between 2 old dogs who have ruled the junkyards for over a decade and a half and now its time for them to settle the score once and for all, because both are completely different fighters from their first meeting. I hope it not slip away like the Foreman vs Holmes fight.

It could happen, would be possibly the biggest paycheck these two can get before riding the sunset once and for good, what is intriguing though is that Jones would accept a bit less money than Hopkins on that one, not that on paper that demand is not possible to logically defend but as much as I like him, I doubt Jones would accept to be the one receiving less.
Intriguing rumor but just like most saddo citizens, I will wait for the official announce before screaming victory.

If it wasn't for jones amazing defensive prowess in the first fight i would have gave the win to hopkins. Hopkins landed the better punches and outworked roy.

dont care about the doubters who wanna throw this in the same kind of pool as tyson-holyfield III. Despite their ages these 2 make up the top 5 in the division and i personally would dance a jig if this came off!!

If this fight ever comes off then a fair split would be 70/30 in favour of Bernard Hopkins. Bernard is a top3 #p# fighter coming off of a demolition job of the world middleweight champ Kelly Pavlik
Jones is a shot fighter coming off a win over an even more shot Jeff Lacey. Jones has done nothing lately to even warrant him sharing a ring with Hopkins. He got thrashed & slapped to defeat by Calzaghe and met a hotch-potch of over this hill fighters & clubfighters
In my opinion 70/30 is being benevolant to Jones
