Well I can try the folding/taping over my knuckles. What I found interesting about your post chris was the comment about the gloves. I generally put my hand in and extend my fingers all the way to the end of the glove then curl "long hands" My gloves are Warrior Pro Bag Gloves - Leather from Title Boxing white on the inner, and black on the outer. Putting my hand in the glove my way my fingers tips are under the padding of the gloves tip. If I do it your way my fingers end at the end of the inner white before reaching the black padding at the end. I do feel a noticeable difference in how it feels. "tighter fist" I won't know how it will work till I test it with my right hand at the gym tonight. I think I may have been putting my hand too deep into the glove. What do you think?
