Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Written in the rulebook, that's not a call out of nowhere, I understand the frustration, the controversy and why their second match was more than necessary to clear air about it though. Jaz doesn't agree with me neither, exchanged a few messages about it and we left it up here as we were never to agree.
So, that was my unpopular opinion![]()

Lennox Lewis is the best HW since Ali
And Zahir Raheem made Morales look stupid. Styles make fights, Castillo wasn't that effective without his clinch bullshit in the second Mayweather fight. Also Castillo had 7 pounds on Mayweather in the ring, where as Morales was naturally smaller than Mayweather, way slower, with less power than Mayweather(at that Mayweather was still fully following through on punches and using combinations). Mayweather would have hit Morales and would have made Morales miss all night long just like Zahir Raheem made Morales miss and look bad. Sure Erik wasn't in his prime, but Raheem is no Mayweather either.
Styles make fights, and everything goes against Morales or Barrera if they could Floyd.
yea Raheem made a shot lazy Morales look stupid, and what are you talkin about? Mayweather's a natural 130 lber rememberMorales wouldn't have probs with Floyd's speed seeing how Manny was faster than Floyd at that weight, although didn't have the same variety of punches he does now, Morales in his prime would have taken out Raheem before the 6th, hell the only round that he actually mounted an offense he dropped him and they ruled it a slip, sorry but Mayweather wouldn't have just walked through Morales or Barrera at 130, seeing how Castillo wasn't even on the same level as them when it comes to skills or strategy
Mayweather wouldn't walk through Morales or Barrera, but it wouldn't be a highly competitive fight, and Mayweather was faster than Manny at 130, his hands were faster, and he got off way quicker. Against Manny you can see everything coming a mile away, or you could it was just to fast for you to react anyways. Mayweather has that type of speed but he has always had the ability to go from 0 to 60 quicker than Pacquiao, his training and style allow for that. Also Mayweather was a natural 130 pounder which means he wasn't afraid to mix it up and throw combinations unlike nowadays against way bigger guys, and once again styles make fights. Floyd would start peppering Morales with jabs and bring the warrior out in Morales at which point FLoyd would be able to completely control the fight with his vastly superior speed and better accuracy and precision.
If Barrera and MOrales both possessed really good defensive skills or were great counter punchers I might be inclined to agree that they would give Mayweather problems, but they weren't quick enough off the gun to catch Floyd coming in and out.
Morales and Barrera possessed two of the attributes that most trouble Mayweather, great jabs (especially Morales) and good body work (in Barrera's case, GREAT body work) and both had the chin and boxing ability to have given Mayweather fits, Morales' boxing ability is often underrated due to his choice to usually slug it out, but he showed clearly in the rematch against Barrera (a fight most feel Morales won) that he could box and keep his cool
I think that Muhammed Ali whilst a great athlete who achieved great things in boxing , is not a great person. he did not live entirely within his own beliefs and shoud/could have shown more contrition for some of the cruelty he imposed on others whilst he was at his peak.
IMO
I believe Ricky Hatton was terribly overrated, and lived off his one win over an old rusty Tszyu. That win came about because he had a disgustingly biased hometown Ref who allowed him to wrestle more than he should have been allowed, and also let him use KT's balls as punching bags.
An 'Old' 'Rusty' Tszyu - who was only 35! had had less fights than Hatton! (and let's not pretend he was in any wars) and had just come off what the critics called his best career victory a few months before - I wonder what he did in those few months to become so Old and Rusty![]()

.....Hatton was overrated by a lot of people I agree. He was a good world champion and the best 140 fighter for a period of time, but a 'Great' he was never going to be, BUT I just don't buy that Tszyu was Old and Shot story, Tszyu just ran into a hungrier fighter who was on his very best night and he lost.

all my Calzaghe opinions really like him getting the decisions over Robin Reid and Hopkins but him not winning the fights and had he rematched Hopkins he would have lost ( again) and the guy is a complete tool
