Old idiots like Hopkins, let them go on 'till kingdom come. I will laugh as they fall upon the rocks. The silly old coots.
Hopkins potentially cemented his legacy as an all-time great by fighting on into his 40s. I'll readily admit that he is the exception to the rule though.
Aside from Pavlik....who did Hopkins beat? He beat two welter weights (Trinidad and De La Hoya) and gropped Winky Wright all night long. Tarver was a mediocre fighter at best. Tarvier did not even start boxing until 28!

This is such a tired debate. Regardless of what you or I think, Hopkins is going to be regarded as one of the best fighters of his generation. Trinidad, Tarver, Johnson, and Pavlik were all legitimate and impressive victories. I also feel he beat Calzaghe, as do many others, and even if he didn't it was by far the most difficult fight of a great fighters career.

No way BHop beat Joe, if that was any other fighter in there he would have been run out for not fighting.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Well u could do that to Calzaghes career too. He fought an injured Kessler, overrated Lacy and Grandpa age Hopkins and Jones. Also about 35 bums.

Note i dont agree with the last statement i just use it to show how anyones resume can be attacked. IMO Calzaghe is not the best fighter at or around SMW of his era i think that is RJJ, but i gotta give Joe credit aint nobody beat him yet.
