Seeing last night's fight has to give Pac and his camp some second thoughts about how much they want to fight Mayweather.

However, I do think Pacquiao would be more competitive than Marquez was. Pacquiao has much more speed and explosion than Marquez, and Floyd has always had a bit more trouble with southpaws than conventional fighters. When Floyd faces conventional guys, he sees every punch coming a mile away and always knows how to react. Whereas guys like Corley have actually managed to land some hard flush punches against Floyd out of the southpaw stance.

And Marquez was completely uncomfortable trying to play the role of the aggressor, while Manny wouldn't be.
Mayweather still outlanded Corley 283-150. And landed over 50% of his punches in every round. He can handle southpaws.
I never said he couldn't handle southpaws or that he couldn't land plenty of punches against them.

I'm saying that in the past, there have been a few occasions where he's been hit by some clean hard punches by southpaws that he never gets hit with against righties.

And Pacquiao is a much better offensive fighter and more dangerous puncher than guys like Corley and Judah.

Not just Shane, but do as Cotto has (other than Marg) and dominate the weight class. However, soundly beating Shane would go a long way in my book. Remember Cotto beat Shane and no one called Cotto p4p #1.

The thing is would you give Pacquiao more credit for trying to fight PBF and failing in that attempt or for dominating the 135-140 pound fighters?

I think Arum will be wanting Floyd to fight Mosley now and take whatever punishment Mosley can inflict on him before he fights Manny. I'm sure they'll make Floyd Manny eventually but I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd Mosley happens first. Manny isn't as fast as No Money, it's the number-one potential grossing fight but another easy win for Floyd. Floyd Mosley will be a less easy win for Floyd.

Floyd fighting whoever always seems like a good idea till the fight actually happens. Floyd himself will go miles to help eveyone think pac has a chance when he really doesn't. Floyd fighting marquez or pac was a silly idea from the start. We all want floyd to loose so bad that we can bring any justificaton to make it seem like there's a chance. Floyd aint the greatest thing ever but he is the best right now. It's not that he beat juan most expected that. It's how he beat him, after a layoff without really even letting the guy hit him. Pac is a great fighter he really is but him beating floyd is just a little far fetched. No more catchweights no more little opponets. If floyd is going to fight. Let's see him really fight. Pac couldn't handle marquez and he sure as hell aint beating mayweather.

Did you see this fight going any differently? Marquez was taylor made for Mayweather. He was smaller, slower, and always been at his best against aggressive fighters who he could break down with counter punching.

Pac still has the one weapon we know can get to Mayweather - a fast, hard straight left. I agree Pac will get hit, but he will win rounds. I absolutely favor Mayweather, but Pac will win some rounds. I see it as a more competitive version of Judah/Mayweather. Marquez didn't have a single weapon that you would expect to trouble Mayweather. No size advantage, no speed or power advantage, no reach advantage, no dominating jab, not a southpaw. Pac will at least land some meaningful punches and make it interesting for a while.

Before we can come to this conclusion, we have to re-assess Marquez' chances against Pacquiao at Welterweight (or at least north of 140).

I know im a bit behind the run of play but i guess im just starting to take this match up seriously.

    Marquez' chance: 30% or less.
