I agree exactly. Floyd might well have answered but he wants to say his piece.* Instead of letting Floyd get through it, Max starts rolling his eyes and talking over Floyd.

That is inexcusable and inexplicable behavior from an interviewer. Anyone who has ever been taught how to properly handle an interview knows that you have to respect your subject first. You don't throw questions at him and get mad when he doesn't answer them directly -- you get him talking first and THEN figure out how to steer him toward what you want him to talk about.

*It is fascinating to me that people seem most aggravated with Floyd as he is being his most gracious. He is THANKING the people who have helped him get to where he is, he is CREDITING Juan Manuel for being a great fighter. People are mad that he mentioned Reebok? I'm pretty sure Lampley and Buffer mentioned Tecate and Southwest airlines a couple of times. Jeez Louise.

Max asked about a relevant issue. And he started interview with big praise. He did exactly what Merchant did when a fighter started veering into commercials and self promotion...called them on it and shut it down !At times Merchant went after Hopkins like he owed him money and with borderline contempt in interviews let alone during the actual fight. He was abrasive and dug for answers, not always pretty but he's not wearing gloves..
