He's bigger than Manny and Marquez, but not by much, and he certainly is a lot smaller than Mosley or Margarito or Cotto, the same amount smaller than them as Marquez is smaller than Floyd. 155 would be the absolute most he could have weighed, and he didn't use size at all against Marquez. It was all speed and defensive skill.
I really don't get this "he isn't even a WW" business. Mayweather previously might have been a smaller sized WW, but he has come back a fully fledged one. He is bigger and carrying more weight and that's why he wouldn't reveal his fight night weight because it would have made a further mockery of what took place.

Mayweather might have been at smaller weights when he was younger but as he has matured so has his body. He is now a 32 year old I'm pretty sure he is at WW or LMW until the end now.

I'm no PBF fan but I know what I see and I refuse to say other than what I see or at least what I truly believe I saw. I think PBF weighed around 155. He did not look a lot bigger than Marquez as some people keep exaggerating. No way would he have been that much quicker and sharper than Marquez had he weighed much more. PBF didn't even use size against Marquez. He let Marquez back him up and he hit and not got hit all night. Who would've have said DLH was too big against Pac if DLH would've beat Pac in the manner PBF beat Marquez? PBF was simply faster, quicker, sharper, and a much better mover than the smaller guy. He was suppose to win but he wasn't suppose to win that easy in that manner when he was the bigger guy. Lets be honest about how PBF won the fight. He won every minute of the fight due to speed and timing. Not because he was bigger. Nice tune up, now PBF needs to fight 2 of the 3... Pac, Cotto, and/or Mosley.

Floyd looked bigger because JMM has a smaller head than his other recent opponents like ODLH, Baldomir, Hatton etc.

For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Age doesn't mean anything. Look how long Hopkins stayed at middleweight and didn't balloon up in the 24 hours from the weigh-in to the fight.

Floyd's dad said that Floyd didn't try to cut weight at all, which means that without too much of a work out he was pretty close to 147. Floyd weighed 160 with all his clothes and bling on when he had that stupid fight with the BIg SHow, thats walking around weight, When he is in true fighting shape he would be 10 pounds lighter.

The reason Mayweather looks bigger is because the last time he actually weighed more than an opponent coming into the ring was way back when he fought Demarcus Corley, and before that it was his 27th career fight against Jesus Chavez.

I saw them at the fight, in the ring, and besides height Mayweather wasn't that much bigger at all. He just looked taller, and more ripped but they're actual size seemed pretty similar. The reason Mayweather would look more ripped is simple, he does weights in the gym, that targets specific muscle groups where as more oldschool working out like what MArquez does usually doesn't build the same look of muscle, but it can be as effective pratically and in terms of mass put on. Mayweather wasn't any bigger than he was against Hatton or Baldomir, and he definitely wasn't as big as when he fought Oscar at 154. Appearances can be deceiving, and Marquez being so short and not offensive(even though he tried but Mayweather was too fleet of foot) made Marquez look all the smaller.

Look at Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, Clottey... they are way thicker than Mayweather, they are way bigger than him, and they weigh in at 160ish. I mean look at MAyweather against Baldomir, he's about Cotto's size, and he looked way thicker than Floyd.

I am not going to argue that Mayweather isn't bigger than when he was at 130 or 135, but he isn't a natural welterweight, he's way smaller than the other top guys in the division, and you will see that if Cotto wins or he ends up fighting Mosley, he will be as much smaller than Mosley as he was bigger than Marquez.... if he's lucky.

Of course age means something. People get bigger as they get older. Retirement only advances the weight in the event of a comeback. Hopkins never retired but eats only carrots. He was able to postpone going up, but he will never fight at MW again. Just like Floyd will never fight below 147 again.

I like the way you made a lengthy post to say all that you did, but I am right and Mayweathers future career will prove me right. He is not a natural JWW anymore, he is a WW and that is something we would all like to see emerge. Forget the bullshit excuses such as Floyd started at 76 pounds, that is irrelevant and not anything meaningful for todays bouts.

Floyd is a WW, he just beat up on a LW and now it's time he fought another WW because a WW is what Floyd is as of now. Also, you should never believe Mayweather Snr. He is what is known as a piece of shit. And as you can tell now you should never trust Floyd either. He is a liar too.

But if you like their bodies, who am I to tell you otherwise?

If Mayweather is a natural welterweight how come he had smaller biceps, chest, etc than Marquez? Marquez had an inch and a half on Mayweather in bicep. All Mayweather had was larger legs.

Look at the post fight interview, Max Kellerman is the same height as Shane Mosley, look how much taller he is than Mayweather. That's how tall the average welterweight is 5'9ish, and Mayweather isn't truely 5'8, He was barely taller than Hatton who is listed at 5'6 1/2.

If you read the ring magazine they put out for the fight, Shane MOsley states when they played basketball that Mayweather couldn't rebound against him because Shane was bigger and stronger.

Call Mayweather a natural WW if you want, but he will be outweighed by a good 5-10 pounds by the likes of Mosley, Margarito, Cotto, Berto, etc. He might not mind fighting at the weight, but if he is a natural welterweight, he is a very, very small welterweight who is smaller than many JWW.

Also the fact that Mayweather doesn't need to worry about what he eats, the fact he doesn't cut weight at all to make 147, and the fact he had to build up his body to fight at WW means that he is a smaller guy moving, and he always will be. He can add more muscle onto his frame, but his frame is still naturally not a WW frame. So yes he will continue to fight at WW, but in terms of size he is way smaller than Cotto or Mosley and you will see that should they ever fight.

Floyd weighed 150 against oscar...and on the scales he was heavier than judah. It's possible that floyd weighed around 155-160 against marquez.

His legs were bigger? that's funny...do you know how much power comes from your legs? Marquez arms are shorter and he put on muscle to jump two weight classes of course the diameter of his bicep will be bulky compared to a leaned natural welter. That's why JMM looked so slow and bulky because he was. Why would the "money" man who admittedly says..."I fight for money, not bragging rights", easily concede 600k if he could have made 144? I'll tell you the same as everyone else has...

    It's because now he's a true welter.

This is retarded I will post it later, but I just read the stats on Mayweather body against OScar and against Marquez, he was bigger physically overall when he fought OScar in terms of leg size, chest size, etc, etc when he faced Oscar than he was against Marquez.

Mayweather weighed-in more than Judah at the weigh in, but he weighed 4 pounds less than Judah coming into the ring, Mayweather stayed at 146, and didn't gain a single pound where as Judah weighed in at 145, but came into the ring at 150.

Marquez didn't look that slow, its just Mayweather is so fast, and skilled technically. Marquez was never able to find a rhythm because unlike Pacquiao or Mosley Mayweather excels in cerebral fights. Marquez didn't speed up the fight so Mayweather being so much faster, and so much better technically/defensively it was Marquez that couldn't get off at all effectively. Also the length of the arm has NOTHING to do with the actual diameter of the arm, it justs appear thicker because its a shorter arm, in actuality that is a load.

I will find Mayweather stats in terms of his body against Baldomir also, and I guarantee he won't be bigger, and he weighed 149 agianst Carlos.

The most Mayweather could have been was 152.

Look at Mosley after the fight when he comes into the ring, look how much taller than Mayweather he is, and he's way more chiseled, and Mosley looked thinner than Cotto who is another guy who is way thicker than Mayweather, and roughly the same height. I am not justifying what Mayweather did in terms of the weigh-in, but he didn't look a lot bigger than Marquez, he just looked like a taller man, fighting a shorter man. I mean look how big Mosley was compared to OScar and look how big Mayweather was, that alone should tell you how much bigger guys like MOsley are than PBF.

It doesn't even matter because in the next fight if its against MOsley or Cotto Mayweather will have no problem weighing in for the fight and he will be 10 pounds lighter, and look way smaller, and he will have absolutely no problems whatsoever with it. Marquez doesn't ahve the type of style that works if you move up too far, Pacquiao and Mayweather do, they will always be very small welterweights, but their skills and more importantly(in this case) speed is what sets them apart.

No one said it "appears" i said of course it will be bigger, because he has shorter arms and bulked up two weight classes, contrast that to a natural 147, taller, longer, leaner pbf, yeah his arms are going to be thicker. But that doesn't mean he's bigger than floyd.

And your style has nothing to do with how far you can move up, it's how effective you can be while adding weight to a naturally smaller frame i.e. height... this is why shane mosely isn't as effective at 154 as he is at 147..because at 154 he's toooooo bulky so his combination punching suffers in gaining extra muscle. The key is to maximize one's physical ability. Marquez's is probably around 130..Floyd clearly by not being able to make 144, this makes him a full fledged welter.

It's just that Floyd was so secretive about the weight thing from the very beginning, in the contract, during the days leading up to the weigh in, and before the fight. On top of that, he's not man enough to address the issue when legitimately asked after the fight. It's hard to root for Floyd, it really is.

Does anyone think Marquez stood a chance even if Mayweather weighed 135lbs?
