I'll try to answer the questions. We understand the motivation was money. We get it. Floyd has boxed his whole life and deserved the Hatton and DLH pay offs. That explains why he chose the Hatton and DLH fights, but it doesn't mean the choices don't merit criticism and it doesn't explain why he chose Marquez (although I understand it was his come-back fight). Fighters who endear themselves to their fans are fighters who consistently challenge themselves and go into fights as underdogs. Maybe it is because of money, but Floyd hasn't fought a true dominant welterweight and he has fought there for five years.
As boxing fans, is it wrong for us to expect more from the p4p best fighter in the world?
Oh and I don't excuse Shane and Bernard's actions, but they did it because how else are they going to get Floyd in the ring with Shane or get Shane any sort of big fight?
