If Ricky's inside game was so godd he should have been able to get shots off without holding.
Ive been trying to say this but i just dont think ive been saying it right Clinching is illegal and technically holding and hitting is illegal. So cortez is apparently a bad ref for stopping something illegal
But Cortez allowed Mayweather to elbow smash, hold, turn his back & duck through the ropes & duck below the waist all he wanted. The Piece de resitance really came when Mayweather turned his back & ducked through the ropes Hatton's punch never touched Mayweather but Cortez deducted a point from Hatton for nothing.
Call Cortez officiating crooked or incompetant your choice I know what my views are
That;s fair enough but the point is Hatton got KO'd in that fight and it wasn't by an elbow and Joe Cortez definitely didn't KO Hatton, so what the fuck difference does it make? Even if Hatton did establish himself, he got knocked out so there would have been NO difference. Hatton gave a fairly good showing of himself in defeat, it should be left at that.

10 rounds of accumulated frustration and desperation at the way things were being managed might have played just as big a role in the KO as any adaptation in the style of Mayweather. All things considered I don't think Hatton would have been stopped had he been given a fair shake of the dice. But that, as they say, is mere conjecture on my part.
