Aye, Woods looked to have slowed down a lot in his past two fights, but I honestly think that he would be able to give us a more honest verdict on Cleverly's chin, and how adaptable he is to more experienced fighters who can adapt to him.
At the moment, I don't think there's enough competition in the UK for him to make the four fights to take the Lonsdale strap outright, so there's no option but to get him the Euro fight, or at least put him in with a few of the gatekeepers in the division.

I think Cleverly has got better with each fight, his power is improving all the time and IMO is looking the real deal so far.
As has been already said its a shame a fight with Clinton Woods could not be made coz then we would know a bit more about what he is made of.

It is not just about who he has beaten, it is the way he has beaten them which tells me he is a class fighter. I was really impressed the way he broke up Macintosh. He does have to perfect his style a little but I can see him holding a version of the title at least. He can go better than that too.

Despite what Jim Watt was saying, i thought Cleverly was doing ok for the first 5 rounds, but he seemed to tire in 6, 7 and 8 until the stoppage. I would say though that this is one of his worst performances that i've seen. I think i've seen 9 of his last 10 fights and i'd say he can definately win a world title. His power has come along, although i don't think he'll big a big hitter as he steps up. He has good hand speed and is normally pretty accurate (not so much last night). As scrap pointed out he was reaching a lot with his punches last night, but this isnt something ive seen him do before.
thats a badly constructed post, sorry. oh Jim Watt just popped up on the snooker as i was typing. Spooky.

I'm not sure he'll make world level either. There's nothing really exceptional about any part of his overall boxing. He'll do OK with Frank Warren though, I see a vacant WBO belt in his future.
