In your opinion should we give all that credit to a resume if you faced them and lost or is it just the matter of fighting them that they should get all that credit for? Of those 6 top guys Mosley has fought he lost to three of them. that makes him 3-3.

If i ran down Mayweathers list, he beat G. Hernandez(we can rank him at about Vargas level if you like) Carlos Hernandez, Diego Corrales, Castillo, Judah and Baldomir are getting a mention because you cannot blame them for their standings in the division at the time Floyd fought them, De La Hoya, Hatton and Marquez. Floyd has beaten them all and still has time. Considering his next 2 opponents are likely to be Pacquiao and Mosley. Mayweather within his next 2 or 3 fights would have a resume that beats Shane's especially if Floyd wins all those fights. Agree or disagree?
I agree with some of that to a point, but you left Jesus Chavez off Floyd's list & John John Molina, Phillip Holiday & Jesse James Leija off Shane's. I'd say right now Shane has the slight edge in terms of quality of opposition, but obviously success rate plays into that for a lot of people. If Floyd fought Pac/Cotto & won, I'd say his was marginally better. If he then beat the winner of Shane/Berto, it would be quite a bit better.
Success rate is a huge factor on strength of resume. Yes Mosley has fought the better fighters overall so far, but he has lost to half of them. As i said in another thread if its purely done on who you have fought and not on success then it would probably be some journeyman that has the best resume in boxing.
But the point wasn't about the resume. The question was asked "why wouldn't Mosley get the criticism that Mayweather gets if it was he who was considering the Alvarez fight".
