That is disgusting and makes me very angry. Being in a mixed race marriage is not the easiest of things at the best of times and I say this from experience and living in a strange country. It is attitudes of the likes of Keith Bardwell, justice of the peace in Tangipahoa Parish, that make life harder and more unpleasant for otherwise reasonable normal people. They are two humans that love each other at the end of the day. They are not two different species. Their child will be a blend of the two of them and will be a human too.

"I'm not a racist. I just don't believe in mixing the races that way" says Keith Bardwell. Well, comments like that confirm him as a bit of a racist. He has black friends he says....but he's not so keen on mixed race types obviously. That man should lose his job and get a good slap from the woman he insulted by refusing to issue a marriage license. To actually refuse and give that as an excuse.....

Nice response Miles, it seems that in many places the more things change the more they stay the same. Can't believe this still happens. There are laws and rules for a reason if you don't want to follow them get out and change your job.

A pharmacist here recently was in the paper for not selling condoms in his shop because of religious resons !! WTF, people make up their own minds get over it.
