Your point being with the first question?Next off, because I follow boxing very closely. From both sides of the Atlantic and beyond. Can Floyd Mayweather sell a stadium? No. Hatton can. He is a popular fighter. More popular than most. The US has only a handful of fighters that might be more popular.
Yes i agree that asking a few people at the airport is quite silly, and also yes Hatton would sell out the big fights if the Brits didnt travel Mayweather,Pac. But as the records say his other fights in the us did not sell out, Americans respect him and hes many fans over there but I dont think hos fanbase is anything special.
What a crock of shit.
You are simply an individual and have no idea what the bulk of your country thinks.
You also warp your own viewpoints to shape how you think your country should think the same as you.
You also only ever type more than a sentence when it comes to the issue of Hatton who you obviously love so much.
Americans only like Hatton because he gets knocked out? Once again you prove yourself a bit of a dick VD, but with a name like that how could it be any other way?![]()
Hatton shouldnt fight anymore, he's got money and if he goes on I think his health will suffer in the long run. If he's gonna fight on, hopefully its against featherfisted fighters.
So you talked to a couple of Americans, of which how many 1 or 2 were black, & you decided you had a good take on how the country viewed him?
Mayweather is a big star with young, black people in Britain, so I can only imagine it is at least similar in the States, most people where I live were watching & talking about his last 3 fights & these are people with no real interest in boxing, who would be dumbstruck if you asked them who Joe Calzaghe is.
He notably brings in a female demographic to TV viewings in a similar way to how Oscar used to as well. I know he might piss some hardcore fans off, but your casual fan doesn't give a shit if he compares himself to SRR or Ali. The main problem is he doesn't have a fanbase that necessarily travels to sports events. Hence why he doesn't always bring a mass of fans out to Vegas, but does very well of PPV.
But then the only 2 fighters who could claim to be consistent successes in bringing fans to Vegas in recent times are Oscar De La Hoya & Manny Pacquiao. No, not Hatton, because as many people as came out for the Mayweather & Pacquiao fights, he brought significantly less for the Malignaggi & Castillo fights, both of which were far from sold-out.
So from all the way over there you can tell what Americans opinion about Hatton are, right?Yeah ok. Let me make this easy you. Should answer a couple questions for us. Hatton can sell out stadiums. In the UK. Put in Hatton in Yankee Stadium, Dodger Statium or Fenway Park. Does Hatton sell out?
The only Briton that Americans care about in the sporting world is probably David Beckham and even that fascination is seriously waning.
Hatton needs to call it a day.
The way he has abused his body in between fights throughout his career with weight, drinking, etc has finally caught up with him and his punch resistance is declining with every fight.
Hatton has had a good career and has given us some good fights but now that is all over, he is done.
Yes, some more up and comers need someone of a notable name to knockout to jumpstart their carreers.![]()
