But seriously why would you be a Democrat and watch Bush do his best to drag the country into the dirt and then think hmm I should vote Republican?
I wonder what his motivations were![]()

...perhaps because of Obama being half black. Doesn't seem to bother Senator Byrd who was in the KKK, he is still a Democrat

He's right. My life has been so terrible
I think he's clearly a racist (funny how they always have 'loads of black friends' & never have 'a racist bone in their body), but in truth being mixed-race is far more complex than people think, I would say that there are definitely problems of acceptance. I think you tend to find yourself feeling more accepted by black people, but that's largely due to how society as a whole determines being 'black'. You also most certainly here black people coming out with this kind of stuff.
You certainly have to put up with bigotry from both sides a lot more, but hey if there's one thing being mixed-race does, it makes you have a sense of humour about these things. Or makes you a sociopath. I can't decide![]()

These heartless dinosaurs are living on borrowed time now. They are all going to have one last massive attempt at controlling all of us and this planet in many different ways. Change will come, its inevitable and those who hold fast to the old dead ways will snap like brittle twigs in the new wind.

Being from Texas and having family through the South I am pretty familiar white's racial feelings. Most of family I would feel 100% sure saying they are not racist but I do have some that I would say are not overtly racist but do harbor some cultural prejudices. While I'd imagine they don't approve of mixed marriages they also would probably say its none of their business and leave it with some classless ignorant remark. I would be interested in what the average black or hispanic family feels about their daughters or sons marrying outside of their ethnicity/race. I rarely have ever heard that perspective.

Maybe 16 years ago I was there with 2 Fighters Lafiyett. Went into a Bar with the 2 lads, all these Redknecks there the look we got. The 2 lads said I dont think this is a good idea, Then the Barman came over and said you had better leave, we did. Funny I got a Bus from New Orleans not knowing got on the back seat, and noticed all the Blacks looking at me. I said something wrong,a Black woman by my side said youre not from round here, I said no from England. She said the back of the bus is Blacks only, I said you dont mind do you, smiling she said no. Told here it seemed funny to me as in England at the time in fact 8 years I was sharing a flat with a Black Guy, anyway had a great journey and made a few freinds, The Busdriver gave me a funny look.

The guys a loon,a living breathing relic of bad days gone by.The story, the couple and nut job have been all over the local and national media.Crazy thing is that Bardwell is confined to a wheel chair...surely he himself has encountered some off mannerisms and lack of pleasantries pointed his way.Immportant to say that this is not metro New orleans their talking of.Lafiyette,St Bernard,Chalmette all have had recent examples of subtle and in your face rasicm.Ecspecially after Katrina.During which the color of one another was the last thing you worried about, it seemed lower lying areas and the city saw a nice unity during those desperate days.Much has come to the surface in the aftermath. The closing and armed blockade of the danziger and Gretna bridges were two.
Unfortunately its still present, racism, in certain parishes (we dont have counties) down here.Your talking about the State in which David Duke ran for Governor in the early 90's.Was a former grand wizard of the Klu klux klan and had a sizable though ignorant following. That was one of the first elections I took part in and there was a famous saying/bumper sticker...."Vote for the crook".That Crook was Edwin Edwards who was running against Duke.He won.Well,Edwards is now serving time in State prison...boy we know how to pick them ehh.

Wish I could impart a million cool clicks to you for that.
I did the same once about 30 years back somewhere in Europe. I got stared at from over the way by all these white faces frowning looking me up and down and stuff and then realized I was sitting on the black side of the train carriage.
Its never existed out here in the southern reaches of Australia but has in the far north I hear.
We've been camping in our panel van on the beaches in an Aboriginal area and had a large aboriginal man just leap in and plunk his self down between us and start snoring, we gave him a lift into his home town in the morning once we all woke up.
