Holy hell that was perfect right cross from Abraham....JT's defense was never that great, even when he blocked punches he never seemed to block all of it. WTF was with the ref trying to count him out?!?!?!

Dirrell is someone that doesn't have a good fight rhythm which is going to hurt him vs some opponents and help him vs others. He has good handspeed and decent power, but he is just so awkward.

Froch is mediocre...he WILL get demolished by Kessler or Abraham. I think this tourney will tell us the most about Andre Ward. I wonder if Allan Green could KO Froch....he's a big puncher, he's got no chin though, I wouldn't be shocked if he caught Froch and finished him. Would have been nice to get a bigger star in there but there is too much money to be made for Pavlik, Hopkins, RJJ, and anyone else other than maybe the Andrade-Bute winner

I was thinking the exact same thing about the refs counting of Taylor. He hit the deck that hard there must be a dent in the canvas.

i agree with the people saying that Froch's chin has been a bit overrated, but people are now talking like he is chinny as hell. where has this come from? I think he has a decent, solid chin. not cast from steel, but decent nonetheless. limestone perhaps.

And all after a fight he was never hurt in. He got floored heavily by Taylor and his chin was granite

    You make good points!

Some thoughts. Dirrell fights Abraham in America next and has the potential to repeat his Froch performance against Abraham and if he can avoid getting KOd then he can get a decision. I think Abraham will catch up to him at some point though.

Kessler must be thinking after wtching the Froch fight that he needs to win a really wide decision or score a KO to win in America against Ward. If it's in any way close he's almost certainly going to get on the wrong end of the decision.

Froch is going to be in big trouble against Kessler and Abraham.

Some more Super Six thoughts. Look how the first half of the page is Super Six threads. It's got boxing fans energised, it's definitely going to bring in new fans. Imagine how good it would be for boxing if they did one of these in every division. And it's affordable. The $50 million number Showtime were talking about was nonsense. That sounds like an estimate of how much all the first round of fights will gross. (HBO's entire sports budget for 2010 is $50-55 million and they dwarf Showtime.) Showtime have put this together by paying each fighter a million dollars TV money for three fights, plus the cost of advertising it.

HBO are contracted guarantee Golden Boy exclusive dates into 2011 despite all their prospects being wiped out and them mainly relying on pensioner power now. They piaid three million for the Dawson Tarver rematch and spent a bunch on advertising it, they could have had half a Super Six with that. Hopefully in 2011 HBO tell all the promoters to eff off, they're going to have to put their guys in Super Six-style tournaments throughout the weight divisions.
