I think It's more his ego and pride than money, you have to Give Hatton that he has big balls, but he needs to listen to other people cos he is beggining to sound like hes lost the plot.

He has more chance of fighting Hamed than Mayweather! Both are at about the same weight currently.
JMM or Juan Diaz when he comes back, Hatton knows he's got zero chance of a Mayweather fight.
I thought you were 'outta this dead fucking hole'??

Exactly. Hatton is pretty much done and he knows it with all his talk about going into promoting and doing stand up. He's trying to justify why he doesn'y need to box anymore. It's easier than saying "I'm probably done after that last showing".
He knows his best time to beat Mayweather has passed, and I have a hard time seeing him fight again.
Mayweather beat Hatton up for 10 rounds then knocked him out after this fight he fought Lazcano and he looked shot like Mayweather had finished him then he fought Pacquiao and he totally finished him off. Hatton needs to retire or if he fights another P4P fighter he will end up dead horrible but true.
All i'm gonna say to this is "NO".
As a big Hatton fan, I would very suprised if he ever stepped foot in the ring as a boxer, of course as a promoter he will, but certainly not in anger.
As for taking on Mayweather, that would need at least 2-3 warm up fights due to length outta the ring, carnt see him wanting to put himself through all that 3-4 times more.
Ridiculous to think they will meet again![]()
JoeyUK - as a huge Hatton fan ya must have been watching a different fight to me, as Cortez didnt allow Ricky any holding yet allowed Floyd to use his forearm, some would think it was a muay thai fight !!![]()
It gets bitten at because everyone is sick of hearing the various excuses for why Ricky didn't do well (Cortez, Mayweather Sr, illness). It'd be nice if people just accepted that Mayweather & Pacquiao were the reason he lost.
Calling it as I see it, it was by no means the worst refereeing performance in recent times, not even in the discussion. I mean shit, it wasn't even the worst Joe Cortez performance in recent times.
It would be the greatest comeback in sports history, and putting the fight on would be one of the greatest calamities boxing has ever seen.
"...went 12 rounds with Ali, and never took a backwards step."
