How much did you see of him? He was fantastic when playing for both Red Star Belgrade & Marseille. Had an amazing eye for a pass & ball control. Gazza for me had two good tournaments, but his skills were greatly overestimated due to the fact English football was lacking in flair players at the time. He only really played well for 3 teams, Newcastle, Spurs & Rangers & the problem there is that at that time, all of those leagues were quite weak. He was absolute shit in his time in Italy.

I'll admit he had two good tournaments in Italia 90 & Euro 96, but I feel his skills are drastically overrated. Plus if the cunt had kept himself fit, he might have actually reached that ball across the six yard box against Germany in the semi at Wembley.

to be honest only a limited amount. I do remember a good few european cup and world cup campaigns he was in and he was a very nifty little footballer.

Problem with gazza is that he spent 80% of his career living off of what he did in the 1st 20%. No doubt about it in my mind the gascoigne of italia 90 and spurs is up there with the very best english midfielders of all time, im talking charlton, gerrard good.

Other than a brief moment of brilliance against the jocks in euro 96 he never quite lived up to his true potential and it was such a shame seeing him towards the end of his career getting run out of a game while playing for the likes of middlesbrough though he always mantained those brief flashes of brilliance!
