I agree JMM doesn't need to be in the tourney. He has options at other weights, whilst Nate, Juan Diaz & Casa have all left the weightclass so for me it would be

    Edwin Valero
    Michael Katsidis
    Joan Guzman
    Humberto Soto
    Anthony Peterson
    Ali Funeka

I think out of that either Soto or Guzman win it.
If JMM is not there the Peterson is a good replacement
It would be a toss up for me between DeMarco & Peterson
I think you'd need Peterson just to give it a bit of American interest.
    Good point
Maybe open it up to 8
    DeMarco
    Murray
    Reyes
    Moses

The problem with 8 is it becomes like Lightweight Lightning, which never carried through past the first round really apart from Katsidis & Escobedo fighting. I think the round-robin is the best idea as it doesn't lead to a one loss & you're out risk in the same way as an elimination tournament does. Hence, you get a better standard of fighters who are willing to risk more, knowing that they've got more than one chance.

Could work on a similar points system where 2 drop out after the 1st rd
Lightweight Lightning failed because Barrios & Casa pulled out & the fighters weren't locked in to a tournament type scenario
