De Gale is a really nice young bloke off camera, hes cocky and I didnt really take him that well at first, but im behind him now after meeting him I think he would spark them to wrestlers from last night Smith and Quigley in one night.

Give it 12 months or so we may well get to see that. Quigley v Smith's rematch will be at least 3-4 months time, by which time DeGale will have another 2-3 fights behind him, by the middle of the year he'll be pushing for the title shot, and probably either Smith or Quigley will still be British champion.
Might be interesting to see someone try and take DeGale into a wrestling match and how he responds.

I have nothing against him; I think he deserves at least a chance!
As to why people may dislike him? I don't think, so much, that people think he will do an A-Farce I believe he will do a Khan: That's a premature move to PPV rather than falling over everytime he gets hit.

Quality fighter. He knows where he is going and looks the part. The Boo Boys will disappear.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

He comes across as cocky and smug which does not go down well in the UK.
I am sure the fans will warm to him if he starts to prove himself at a higher level.

That old Olympic medal just doesn't seem to cut the mustard in terms of mixing it I suppose....That must really be the legacy of Audley Harrison for boxing in the UK, making people doubt the quality required to win Olympic gold.
Just like other unpopular fighters, success can overcome where their attitude can grate with some people, although I'm not convinced that he's not been somewhat misrepresented in his portrayal in the media.

well the amateurs aren't the pro ranks and I repeat to say you will be world champion and you're better than the other ex-olympians before you've had your first pro fight is a tad premature on the whole folks in the UK don't like that attitude regardless of a persons ability.
If he proves to be quality then good on him, just keep your mouth shut.
