What's the battery life like on yours amat?

Um IDK most of the time at school, bookstore, friends house ect. I have it plugged in. I would guess probably 3.5/4 or 5 hours if I'm only browsing the net I think it lasts like 5 hours or so. Of course if I'm watching a movie fullscreen then that cuts the battery life in half, that is the one frustrating thing.
One thing though, my laptop charger broke and let me give you advice, NEVER BREAK YOUR CHARGER, it's a pain in the ass to replace. I ended up having to buy a new battery/charger for like $130 but it's cool because I have an extra battery now.

Dell Laptops, Desktop Computers, Monitors, Printers, & PC Accessories, that's all I have to say about it.
Price wise for the quality you have for, this is extremely good, plus you can pick up any pieces you want to have inside therefore you pay for what you need. They are cheaper in general than Asus, Alienware (Obviously and though now Alienware belongs to Dell) and you have a very correct guarantee coming with it. Other companies like Sony are making excellent computers too and maybe a bit nicer but you,ll pay more for what you will have.
Here just for fun, I did build you a 15' screen VERY correct for your needs (I took a 15' as it's even cheaper than a 14' screen for 679 cdn bucks:
500 sata HD
15' inch HD screen
enhanced battery for lifetime (you should be good for over 4 hours with it on a 15' as I do almost 4 on my 17
4 GIG ddr ram
2.4 processor dualcore
A very correct wireless card.
Go give it a look and play with the options if you want to upgrade it a bit more and be willing to shell some more bucks on it.

Make sure you get one with HDMI out so that you can watch streamed fights on a big tv with HDMI when/if you have one...
I didn't even realize i'd bought a combo capable of that until one day I just realized my tv and laptop both had HDMI.. Bought a cable, plugged it in, and bang, tv turned into the computer screen...
I don't use it very much, but for downloaded movies/tv and fight streams I love it..
Would probably be cool for games as well except I only use PS3 for games..

Don't know much about laptops.
I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 and its fucking shit.
The battery is faulty and dies the second its unplugged. One of the keys fell out and it's really slow and shit.
It's horrible to type on and I got ripped off on the price too, paying £450 for it about 18 months ago and then seeing better specced laptops for cheaper in Staples.
Generally I really like Dell, I have a 24 in widescreen Dell Monitor that is lush but I really resent buying this piece of shit laptop.
I would recommend buying anything other than a Dell....

I am more than positive; I did buy mine 2 years ago and it is not as powerful as that one (obviously) and it is more than decent to watch movies and streams as long as you have a good internet connection (of greater importance for streams).
Bilbo seems to have had a very bad experience with is Dell but Me, my brother, mother and a very close and geek friend of mine have all Dell and we haven't have had no major problems whatsoever with it, I did look at more or less every brands before i bought mine and seeked advices to two close and übergeeky friends and they told me that Dell have definitely improved their quality in the 4 last years due to rough rivalry and that now, for the price and quality balance you have for, this is a top choice. I would never lie about such things especially as I am not a Dell sucker, I prefer the Sony Vaio for a couple of reasons but to have a very good computer and a cheap price, Dell are hard to beat at the moment and that's why I went with it.

On a more serious note I have these...
My daily use for work and entertaiment.

My trial and error, anything goes.

Great, thanks for your help.
What do you think about this one, it's the Dell 14" Inspiron that I half-assed customized for myself. It's on sale (I think) for $120 off. I'm concerned about portability, so I think the 14" model might work better for me.

Edit: The link doesn't seem to connect to the one I add augmented, but whatever. Thanks again Nameless.
