One thing I should mention as well is that I want to be able to take my laptop to class and take notes etc., so size is a concern there as well.

CFH: Can you manually write me how much cost your final produce once customized and what's inside? I will tell you if to me it makes sense (though I am pretty sure it does).
*Hint*: you must have a damn killer UsB stick or external HD to have backup of everything.... I promise, I lost my things once and it has been the mother of all concerns, never will it happen twice. Look for some iomega External hard drive with shock technology, you can have 500 gig VERY portable for a damn cheap price now with the shockproof technology (which means against daily life shock and small accident, not against an infuriated anger of pointblank slamming with might on the wall)
