Going into a Wlad fight banking on one or two at a time and jumping up with them will see Haye eating jabs like a fat kid eating jellybeans on Easter day.Sure he has the potential to hurt him but Valuev is big...and had a belt.Thats about it.no Wald or Vitali he.
They're tiny tots compared to Valuev. Haye will be able to land more punches and will still be a lot faster than they are. There's a good chance he'll lose to either guy but he's got more chance than any other heavyweight of involving one of them in an exciting fight for the first time ever, so we have for the first time in a long time a tiny ray of light in the heavyweight division.

He COULD be able to land more punches, but he would have to throw them first and I don't see him changing strategies in that department...Haye throws 1 at a time, that's just as plain as the day is long....sure once or twice in an entire fight he may put together a combination, but Mike Tyson he isn't

He doesn't need to be Mike Tyson, he only needs to get to pro-celebrity golfer level.

...he's not Corrie Sanders either...and if he was Corrie Sanders and fought Vitali he'd still be in a heap of trouble.

    He's better than Sanders. FACT.

I think as a heavyweight that's still up for debate. I think a prime Sanders could ko David Haye.

Going 12 rounds with Valuev and winning a razor thin fight that could have gone either way is not impressive.

Answer me this honestly, if the following fighters adopted Hayes tactics of running and then just popping in the odd jab would these not last 12 rounds?

    Hopkins
    Jones Jr
    Calzaghe
    Williams

    How about Floyd and Mosely?

How does Valuev catch any of them? Sure if they stand and trade they are asking for trouble but they would all find it even easier to stay away from Valuev than Haye did.

It's just not an impressive win. I reckon Usain Bolt could last 12 rounds if he just did what Haye did.

He will have a LOT more trouble with John Ruiz if that fight comes off.

Yes, the mighty golfer Corrie Sanders. He was almost as good as Ross "The Boss" Purrity.

Haye stunk it up. I expected a lot more out of him. (Maybe he tricked me into believing the hype). I had Valuev winning, although it was close enough to go either way, so I am not mad. But considering that 87 year old Evander Holyfield essentially won every round of his fight against Valuev, I dont think there is much promise.

He better avoid the Ukrainians like the plague.

I'll agree on that he is not Tyson, I'm not delusional, I'm not a huge fan of Tyson and to a certain extent I think he was overrated but at the end of the day he was an all time great and I wish he was back as that young kid blowing everyone out and exciting the boxing world.

They're also 10 times more skilled then Valuev. To land he has to throw which leaves any fighter more vulnerable, especially one that waits and looks for ko's firstly.Thats his shot against Wlad...a Ko.If he over thinks things, sits outside and leaps in he could be in big trouble.Getting past, under that jab will be no easy task and he will have to set things up.I actually think he's good for the division and will bring excitement...but he doesn't walk on water and a little too early to be fitting him for a throne. Both Bros have been in exciting hvy matches and have dealt with adversity, heavyweight adversity.New waters for Haye for the most part...when he gets smacked on the chin and one-two bombs are not enough,we'll see.

Senior was in an exciting fight with Lewis, Junior's exciting fight was him getting bounced round the ring by a scratch golfer. Since Lewis retired and since the golfer incident neither of them has been anywhere near an exciting fight. Between them they've managed to turn the heavyweight division into a total non-attraction. Now there's a tiny ray of light.
