    WORLD CHAMPION!!!!!!!!!

    or

David Haye won a portion of the world title last night against the weakest opposition.
    Yeah, I know!

I just expect a little more from my BBC sometimes. The news goes all over the world and people generally listen to the BBC and are now thinking "righty, the British guy is now the heavyweight champ!".

He does deserve props for getting the win, I grant him that. Dull fight, but he did enough in the end. Just think the Beeb were a little over the top. I came home today and they were on about it again.

I work just outside burnley and the local radio station said: NO ONE EXPECTED HAYE TO WIN AGAINST THE 7 FOOT MONSTER, BUT HE DID US PROUD AND CAME HOME ON TOP OF THE BOXING WORLD, lol.

    I love it!

He was the favourite leading up but when the bell rang he was the outsider.

That's what i'm getting at, the press are just jumping on the bandwaggon really, but whether or not you like Haye, it is only good for boxing, we need it to get this kind of coverage if it is ever to return to it's former glory.

Yeah I know you were don't worry, I'm rolling my eyes at the media not you.

It just made me laugh the whole buildup to the fight. They kept showing Valuev against Owen Beck and trying to make out he was like King Kong or something when against evertybody else he has been embarrassingly poor.

David Haye has been delusional about this too, telling us how he made Valuev look like an amatuer, half way through the fight they regave the fight odds and Valuev was a big favourite, most thought Haye was losing!

It was an abysmal fight and a waste of money for all those bought the pay per view, but to Haye it was an epic war against a worthy adversary.

He beat a fucking shit paper belt champion and he did it in the most negative way imaginable.

It's making me angry that he's receiving glory for the kind of performance that ruined the careers of many other fighters in the eyes of fightfans, Raheem and Ruiz etc.

It was duller than any Wlad fight, duller than any Ruiz fight even, quite honestly it may have been the most boring fight I have ever seen, on a par with Chris Byrd vs De Varyl Williamson.

No the most boring fight in the history of boxing has been proven to be Wladimir Klitschko vs Sultan Ibragimov.

I thought the fight was intriguing from start to finish. Sure I would have liked Haye to land more punches and based on what happened in the final round would have liked to see him try and spark him.

Bilbo you give Audley Harrison credit for winning the fucking prize fighter tourney yet your not at all impressed with Haye who has won legit world titles in two different weight classes in the other blokes back yard both times.

Have a day off for fucks sake
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Exactly, all this undeserved hysteria is making me sick. Well done David, you're now almost as good as a 46 yr old Holyfield with early onset pugilistic dementia.

The media coverage has amazed me. So many non-boxing fan friends are asking me about Haye and potential matchups with the Klit's. It just shows what pulling-power the heavyweight division still has - Calzaghe, Khan, and even Hatton never received a reception like this after a win.
