Fightnews is happy to report that professional medical opinion is that fomer world title challenger Z Gorres is expected to have a functional life. For now, he will need to rehabilitate his left side which may need time but he is no longer in critical condition although still in a serious situation. Gorres may be removed from the ventilator in the next 48 hours. According to Dr. Casey (Trauma Surgeon), the progress of Gorres is remarkable and is normally seen in two weeks but because Gorres who is young and in great health responded well in only five days. “Z has dramatically improved, I am happy with his developement” said Casey.
“We are pleased to hear the news and would like to thank everyone for all the prayers that we know that have helped Z recover from the biggest fight of his life. Thank you,” said Michael Aldeguer President of ALA Promotions. (Gorres’ Promoter in the Philippines). Gorres won a unanimous decision over Luis Melendez on Friday night in Las Vegas. Moments later he collapsed to the canvas and was taken on a stretcher to University Medical Center’s trauma unit where he underwent surgery to relieve pressure on his brain.
