tests tend to mean very little these days....
shane mosley - never failed a test
barry bonds - never failed a test
and alot of people are saying "he is just an extrodinary athlete he doesnt need any help" im pretty sure these would have been the same responses from RJJ fans before he got caught
I'd say it's because he is the man.
I went with superior speed. As has been said, i think he gets quite a few knockdowns because his speed allows him to catch people as they're throwing and off balance, although all of the ones listed contribute to the knockdowns he scores
All of the above play a factor on Pacquiao being able to drop his opponents.
I voted taht they dnt see the punch commin.
Pacs left hand is so fast that they see the punch to late to block it, in the slow motion replays you can almost alwayz see them retractin they hand to block it but r too late, so they are hit and knocked down.
Forgot to add "Weight-drainage on his opponents" as a possible reason too.
Naaaaah, the guy is good, no doubt about that.
Ikariam
why the issue of roids? hes been like that eversince! when i was watching cotto pac they showed pics of pac from different years. he was thin with very little muscles and fat, as he became older he bulked up. thats how our body works we bulk up as we grow old.
speed is a tad slower but it wasnt noticeable cause he was fighting guys bigger thus a bit slower than the lower weights. so he looks faster now than before. punching power is about the same well maybe a little stronger.
stamina is degrading a bit, back then he is much more relentless, its only now that he is starting to pace a little bit.
as to why he kd's opponents? mainly cause of speed next is the opponents under estimate pacs speed. they all claim that they cant see pacs punches.
An above-average fighter's instinct to go with a physicality and reflexes that will support it.
What his mind conceives as the best sequence of moves in a toe to toe, panic boxing scenarios, his body and his skill set can and will be able to execute.
In the sweet science, where there is knowledge, discipline and etc... one needs to build on to be successful in the sport, Pac brings with him a plus on the instincts of an inner beast inside him.
As we have observed, repeatedly when in difficulty, PacMan draws more from this than from his learnings.
Those are still the answers from RJJ fans AFTER he got caught.
I'd like to believe Pacquiao isn't the same & there is more evidence of him growing into the weight through better nutrition in the US. Someone pointed out the other day that at 24 or 25, he was fighting at Featherweight, well at the same age Mayweather was fighting at Super-Featherweight, so it's not like it's impossible.
The guy is such a nice character, I'd like to ignore the cynic in me that is suspicious of him. The biggest problem is a lot of those who try & defend him understand little about nutritional training & how a boxer trains & looks as they go up in weight, usually doing a poor job of defending him & casting unfair doubt on his innocence through their own ignorance.
