The fact that Pacquaio fought ODLH after Floyd beat him and Hatton after Floyd beat him probably affected the numbers somewhat (along with the economy)

And here Cotto is a bigger draw than JMM, its just a question of how much bigger? There are only two real draws in boxing, Floyd and Manny, Cotto is in the second tier if there is one.
I agree with a lot you say here. These guys are not that far apart in drawing power so this fight should just be 50/50. Or 45/45 and 10% go to the winner. But Roach says he is not backing down from 60/40. I hope that is just a bluffing starter number otherwise this fight will not happen because PBF will definitely not take less than 50% from anyone other than DLH. 45/45 and 10 to the winner is the negotiable, and manly, thing to do.
i agree, IMO neither should be getting a 60/40 cut, it's pretty ridiculous that either one of these guys think that they have the drawing power of DLH, i mean Mayweather and Pacquiao are big and have been pulling big numbers, but they've been doing it against quality opposition and other big names, DLH could get a million buys just by fighting Kid Thunder

This kind of thing happens all the time, I thought 142 was a bargaining move and it was, I think 60/40 is a bargaining move, I'll say it now as a Manny fan, if anybody says 60/40 or fuck off and sticks to it they're pricing themselves out, just another form of ducking.

As Roy Jones said to Hopkins "lets make it 60 to the winner 40 to the loser", thats what it should be and if you offered that to Floyd I think he'd take it, not sure Roach would let Pac take it! Roach has too much say if you ask me!

Why couldn't things just be easy when it comes to these negotiations.. 60 for the winner 40 for the loser is always a fair negotiation, one which I wish more fighters went with.

Why are people acting like these guys are taking forever?!

It's not even been a week since the Cotto fight. Mayweather is hardly the easiest man in the world to deal with, whilst Pacquiao has a history of taking all the time in the world to sort a deal for a fight (Oscar, Hatton & Cotto all dragged on 1-3 months).

Give them at least 2-3 weeks before we act like they're taking forever with negotiations.

There are many rounds to go but in the end the fight will be made because too much money to be made and a lot of egos to manage.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

I'm with you Jaz, I won't be paying any attention at all to pre fight negotiations over either money or weight, I couldn't care less.

The fight will happen in 2010 for sure so just look forward to it happening then, but in the meantime just enjoy the other fights, starting with Kessler Ward tonight.
