Floyd-Pacquiao advantages/disadvantages

I forgot about "Defense" and sure it goes to Floyd. We might as well include "Offense" which goes to Pacquiao. One thing that makes this fight very interesting since we have a defensive genius at one end and a well-oiled offensive machine on the other end.

I can accept that "quality of opponents" might be EVEN.

not really, IMO Mayweather puts combo's together better than Manny, and he has a wider variety of punches, he knocked Hatton out throwing a hook on the backfoot, i don't see Manny being able to do that, seeing how he basically lunges in and puts all of his body weight/force into his shots

Putting everything on equal terms, Pacquiao put on a much better offensive performance on their common opponents (Oscar and Ricky). Pacquiao also throws punches in bunches from weird angles and position. That's why I considered his offense more lethal compared to Floyd.

again DLH was a lot farther along when he took on Pacquiao than when he fought Mayweather

and Mayweather hit Marquez a lot more, a lot harder, and with a wider variety of punches than Pacquiao ever had, it's not just one way buddy

if anything it's 1 to 1 cause given how shot Oscar was it shouldn't even be counted, cause going by logic hell Khan should get the edge over Pac cause he pretty much had Barrera on the ropes and not doing much (although it was more cause of the cut than anything) , Floyd would probably take David Diaz out a lot quicker than Manny did, would it prove anything? no

offense isn't measured by power alone, it's measured on your ability to put your punches together and land, IMO the more accurate of the two is Floyd, and the way he lands at will against world class opposition and makes it look easy gives him the edge in offense

On paper, this fight seems to be a toss up unlike the Floyd-JMM fight where Floyd almost had all the advantages.

I am convinced of my original assertion and nothing will sway me from that view. It really could go either way, and I hope the fight happens. It's a fight in which I too shall become a hugger of testicles. Though I won't hug them quite as tightly as Bruce Lee.

You got a point maybe except "workrate". Floyd got to throw more against someone like Pacquiao who has an excellent workrate.

No way the trainers are even, not even close for that matter! Floyd would still be Floyd without Roger. but Pacquiao would not be on the same level without Freddie Roach! Roger Mayweather equals woman beating mentally hadicapped uncle riding his nephews coat tail!
