If you can get your hands on a media player download Sopranoes, Oz, and The Shield. Its the only way to watch them is one after the other. Ive seen most of whats mentioned here and personally they dont hold a candle to these 3 shows IMO
i downloaded all 6 series of the sopranoes as i love mafia gangster stuff but i watched 2 episodes then deleted them all as i wasnt impressed not heard of oz, never seen the shield either
You shoulda give the Sopranoes a bit more than that as it is, without doubt, one of the best shows ever made. Anyone who has seen it will tell you the same. 'Oz' is a prison drama with a big mix of guys from 'prison break' and 'the wire' in it. Pretty graphic with guys getting raped and shit and thats just the opening credits (seriously). Never heard of it myself til lately when a pal told me about it. Very good and addictive nevertheless. 'The Shield' is about a group of corrupt cops getting involved in all kinds of shit like murder and drugs. In my opinion the best cop show out there and i include all the CSIs and The Wire. You feel yourself rooting for the main protagonist Vic Mackey who is a bad, bad, nasty piece of work. Shameless was great tho. thought it lost its way in the 3rd series but came back well the last two. How does Frank get all those women? Anyway if you get a chance then get those 3 shows. hugely enjoyable i kid you not

3 great shows, indeed. I've been watching the Sopranos through HBO On-Demand. Most notably was Tony killing Ralphie and him and Christopher cutting him up and dumping him after or Tony whipping that senator with his belt. I'm renting Oz from my library and I only caught the 1st two seasons of the Shield back when it was on. But I would add Carnivale to the list, great Good v. Evil show, but HBO had to kill it because it was too expensive. I'm still on Law & Order and SVU.

lol. Jesus, did i laugh when they were cutting up Ralphie and his wig came off and chris near shit cos he didnt know he wore one. The black comedy in it is great. The time paulie and chris are lost in the forest after chasing the russian had me in stitches laughing. Top class writing and acting

I just saw the season 5 opener after Tony and Carmela split. Carmela made AJ take the trash out and as she's standing in the kitchen she hears him say, "Mommy!" outside. She rushes out and the kid is near pissing his pants while a bear is chilling outside by the pool. And Christopher and Paulie Walnuts almost coming to blows until the waiter comes outside to complain about his tip. They bonded over killing the guy. Hilarious. I think this season ends with Adriana crawling and begging for her life before Silvio blasted her.

David Chase the writer for Sopranos is brilliant, I wish he would put together a feature film kinda like they did for Sex and the City (another HBO series)

Wait till you get to the last Season theres a couple episodes in that season that really just blew me away they were very powerful.

whats this sopranos you talk about?

    Shameless
    Inbetweeners
    South park

all you ever need in life

You need to give it longer than that mate. I borrowed them from my brother, watched 2 and didn't like it. Months later i gave it another go and loved every minute of it. It's brilliant imo.

i am currently watching the 4th season of dexter, & really enjoying it, the dark humour really works, i think its maybe the best season of all upto now. balancing a family life & being a serial killer really looks like hard work

Drag I'm 9 episodes into the 4th season of Dexter all I have to say is wow whoever is doing the writing this season has stepped there game up, its definitely the best season to date. Can't wait to get through the last few episodes I'm sure there will be a twist or something.
