OK, I watched it on YouTube, and I don't think the reffing was so biased or that Ward fought all that dirty. The ref didn't warn Ward for holding, because Kessler was holding just as much, and Ward was the only one doing any work on the inside. It would have been a lot different if Kessler was trying to get in to throw punches, and Ward was tying him up to stop him and get back out, but Kessler barely threw any at all on the inside.
The last headbutt was the only on that looked like it was intentional, but even that one could have been some awkward follow through after missing a punch.
I really don't see how you can say Ward fought a negative style, either. He was moving back for much of the fight, but threw and landed a lot of punches. He often pressed the action, even sometimes with an abandon that Kessler wasn't able to take advantage of.
The thing that bothers me about Ward is the whole fighting for the Lord BS. I guess Jesus just loves him more?![]()
