agree with killersheep, 1st looked accidental and the 2nd looked pretty intentional, but seriously don't see what the uproar is all about, when Froch hit Dirrell in the back of the head for 12 rounds and did 2 intentional cheap shots at the break without even getting a warning, yet some of the guys who had him "doing more" to get the win are here bitching about the Ward/Kessler fight, seems some Brits are just upset that although the other two US fighters lost, the last American left picked up the biggest win in the tourney

lol ok I wouldn't go that far. Personally, I was never really taught geography in school thus I don't really know it, but we know the difference between England and Germany even if we can't all separate them on a map.

Yep, we're mentally fucked as whole in America. It's funny when two American fighters fight, then home state or city get behind their guy.

It's funny when I hear Mayweather say of Marquez "He got a whole country behind him" implying that he himself doesn't have citizenship to any country that would back him. In America it's like "Yeah the minorities are American when they're fighting non Americans so its okay to root for them, but when it comes to American vs American then there are a bunch of stupid little quirks that one uses to determine who one will back. Instead of just watching two guys fight.

Also I reaallly don't like Southern California, it is waaay overrated but Southern California is better then No California in my book. But Kessler is from Denmark and anytime any American (much less someone from the Bay) fights a Brit (or European, whatever) I am going to root for the American. Btw this was much more then revenge robbery, much better.

It's great I mean the only other sport where you can conjure up this type of anti-Euro sentiment from an American perspective is boxing, unless you want to become a cycling fan. Plus you guys (Brits, Euros, etc) have Hattonhammer (who by the way was wrong, surprise, surprise) on your side which makes it all the more worth it even though it could prove destructive.

i know Britain and Denmark are 2 completely different countries, but they both are European countries and i only was referring to the Brits being upset cause well lets face it about 60% of the people on here are Brits, and from what i've seen most of the ones bitching and moaning about Ward are the same ones that were praising Froch

OK, I watched it on YouTube, and I don't think the reffing was so biased or that Ward fought all that dirty. The ref didn't warn Ward for holding, because Kessler was holding just as much, and Ward was the only one doing any work on the inside. It would have been a lot different if Kessler was trying to get in to throw punches, and Ward was tying him up to stop him and get back out, but Kessler barely threw any at all on the inside.

The last headbutt was the only on that looked like it was intentional, but even that one could have been some awkward follow through after missing a punch.

I really don't see how you can say Ward fought a negative style, either. He was moving back for much of the fight, but threw and landed a lot of punches. He often pressed the action, even sometimes with an abandon that Kessler wasn't able to take advantage of.

The thing that bothers me about Ward is the whole fighting for the Lord BS. I guess Jesus just loves him more?
