If Haye wants to bring excitement back to he division then he could not pick 2 worse opponents than Ruiz and Bhop. They'll both make him look sloppy, and will be hard to KO.

Hopkins can beat Haye.
Haye isn't a busy fighter like Calzaghe, actually his workrate is awful, and he punches very wild. Hopkins would take advantage of that with short crisp shots and would use his defense and footwork to keep Haye missing.
I personally think Hopkins is too smart for Haye and i also think Hopkins would be better suited at heavyweight than most think.
Obviously Haye's size and power is a huge factor though.

lol at everyone picking Hopkins
You guys are crazy if you think Hopkins would seriously consider this. He could beat an old, fat, predictable, plodding, one-two heavyweight but, however shit he is to some of you (), Haye still has great speed for a heavyweight, is unpredictable and has serious sparko power.

Haye has enough speed to be able to land big punches consistently. But it's Hopkins, it'd end up being a horrible fight to watch no matter who won. If Haye does fight Ruiz then Hopkins he's not exactly going to get American audiences enthused about him. It's fucking Golden Boy again using their muscle to make crap fights for their fighters.

well here's a question for you if for you all if hopkins did beat haye do you think he would fight any of the klits?
If he did fight them does any one think Bhop could pull off a win??
dont Fuck with the chuck

Hopkins got skills
Hayes got mouth![]()

Im a big fan of both fighters but if this fight happens Hopkins will not see round 6 Haye will KO him Hopkins has never faced anyone who can hit as hard as David Haye this fight is not a fight Hopkins should be gunning for.
Array
Obviously Haye has speed and serious power but what is power if it isn't finding the target ?
I disagree about him being unpredictable either.
When Haye is the naturally bigger man, he comes forward and is effective when throwing in singles but when he puts punches together, he seems to go wild with his hooks and looks sloppy because of it.
The thing with Hopkins is, single shots don't work against him, you have to be able to put punches together effectively like Calzaghe and Haye simply isn't effective at that imo.

Hopkins has never weighed above 175. Haye is a natural 215lb athlete. Would Hopkins retain his current speed with the extra weight? How would Hopkin's constant holding work against a naturally much bigger fighter? He'd be fucked.
Haye has a reach advantage and Hopkins is just about the perfect height for him.
The only thing predictable about Haye is, win or lose, everyone he fights gets hurt.![]()

Hopkins actually weighed around 185 on the night against Pavlik and was probably higher than that against Calzaghe.
Obviously moving up in weight may affect Hopkins speed but that isn't certain, Hopkins still may keep his speed at heavy.
Hopkins doesn't constantly hold when the fight is at his pace. Look at the Pavlik fight.
Against Haye, the fight would be at HIS pace being as Haye doesn't throw alot of punches.
Everyone Haye has fought hasn't had Hopkins boxing brain and defense.
Hopkins wouldn't be interested in Haye if he knew he couldn't beat him, Hopkins has seen the weaknesses.
Haye's power is a huge huge factor though, If Hopkins can deal with it though, Haye is screwed.
Array
185? Exactly! He's giving away a natural 30lb. Hopkins would never be safe.
Does Hopkins know exactly what the extra weight would do to his performance? NO. Is Hopkins a smart guy? Yes. Does he NEED this fight? NO!
This fight has been mentioned for after Hopkins-Roy. Haye is part of Golden Boy. Using Hopkins NAME to promote Haye in America is the idea not Hopkins actually taking the challenge![]()

Agreed Bernard Hopkins could never get anywhere near Heavyweight, and still have all his attributes. This is a fighter who had been at Middleweight almost all his life, and has only recently moved up to Light Heavyweight.
He would be slower, his punches wouldn't make a dent at Heavyweight, he wouldn't have the footwork which would be his best weapon. It would be a mismatch size wise in every possible way.
Im actually quite shocked people are picking Bernard Hopkins, i think its because of what Manny Pacquiao has done recently. That people now think anything is possible.
But Manny Pacquiao was a teenager at the lower weight classes, so him putting on weight gradually over the years is normal. Although it still does take a special person to do what he has.
The difference is Bernard Hopkins has maintained, his weight for almost 2 decades. And him putting on an extra 20+ pounds at his age, and still be in athletic condition, while also keeping his attributes. Would be amazingly tough and i can't see it.

Speed wouldnt be a factor for Hopkins cos he has spent the last 20 years fighting guys at lower weights who are faster. Power is Hayes big advantage. If Hopkins could survive the initial onslaught then Haye could be in for a long night. No doubt i'd pick Haye as favourite but history tells us u cannot underestimate the Nard. Cos thats when he has his best wins.
Fight i wanna see is Adamek v Haye. Think it'd be a great battle.
