God is a concept, By which we can measure, Our pain, I'll say it again, God is a concept, By which we can measure, Our pain, I don't believe in magic, I don't believe in I-ching, I don't believe in bible, I don't believe in tarot, I don't believe in Hitler, I don't believe in Jesus, I don't believe in Kennedy, I don't believe in Buddha, I don't believe in mantra, I don't believe in Gita, I don't believe in yoga, I don't believe in kings, I don't believe in Elvis, I don't believe in Zimmerman, I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me!!
Once Roy Jones Jr., became an internet snitch and started going after streamers, he was dead in my eyes. I wish the fight against Green would have gone on just a little longer and hopefully we could have watch Roy crawling on the floor just a few more times![]()
And thus is the story of should haves in boxing, sadly they rarely if ever happen. If Roy had retired after Ruiz or even the gutsy Tarver win. Even What if Tyson had stayed retired after the Spinks fight?
I agree Roy was one of the best of all time in terms of his talent and athleticism. You won't see another Roy Jones. It's just saddening how people will pick apart his career because of losses out of his prime.
But I say if he beats Hopkins when they fight, then he can finally ride off into the sunset for good.
Yea its amazing how things can change around so suddenly, i remember Felix Trinidad was being compared to SRR at one point no joke. Before his loss to Bernard Hopkins.
Now people just see him as a very good fighter, who was one dimensional. Who could never beat great technical boxers, or even as you said at one point what about if your boy Mike Tyson had retired before the Buster Douglas fight, even though he was still ridiculously young. I think even i would of rated him higher. Even though you know im not a Mike Tyson fan.
But yea it is a shame that Roy Jones Jr didn't retire after the John Ruiz fight, i think that achievement hadn't been done in 100+ years. But he got lured out by Antonio Tarver, but i think even retiring after the 1st Antonio Tarver fight.
Could of been just as good as retiring after the John Ruiz fight, because then people would of said you actually got to see Roy Jones Jr. In a tough fight where he showed his heart, and he passed the test. And people would of said he wasn't at his best and ETC.
So it would of been an easy excuse, i know i would of used it like hell had he retired after that fight LOL. But personally i also thought the fight wasn't as controversial as people made out, i saw a clear 7-5 win for Roy Jones Jr.
The rounds wern't that hard to score and Roy Jones Jr clearly took the last 2 rounds, which gave him a clear win IMO.

I think you could fit Roy Jones in a line people used to use about an old Sugar Ray Robinson.
Even 70 percent of Roy Jones is better then a lot of people out there and could win a lot of fights.
But sadly like Ray Robinson, couldn't defeat the new guards of the division in his old age.
Like Robinson whose body was never the same after that fight where he passed out. Roy was never the same coming back down.
what if RJJ had'nt jumped up to HW, would he still be dominating at LH now![]()
dont Fuck with the chuck
Fact is that Roy is one of the best fighters in history.
It's funny how short people's memories are.
It really doesn't matter what's happened to him of late... or talk of his chin and what have you... Who cares about Roy's chin? Cuz in his prime no one could test it anyway. I don't think Roy EVER had a chin. There was no one fast enough to hit it.
Roy's reflexes and style were something we'd never seen before. His style was new, unorthodox, flashy and lightning fast... The likes of which come along, if you're lucky, once in a lifetime.
So let the haters hate. They show their ignorance that way.
