I thought Williams did enough, but quite a close fight. That final scorecard is insane. How on earth do you get such disparities in the scoring? It seems every week we find a new judge freshly graduated from the school of mentalism.

The first few rounds were really fun, but it became a bit of a stinky hugfest as the rounds wore on. I prefered Williams output, over the more sporadic flashy punches of Martinez.

Great fight to watch. Needed to be real close or even a draw I coulda lived with. 119 is retarded but nothing surprises me any more.

    I thought Martinez won...

It was a close fight BUT Martinez landed the harder cleaner shots.
I felt he dictated the fight for the most part.

Judge Pierre Bitch-Noise is a disgrace....

    My sentiments exactly.

Haha, only 1:30pm here, so no alcohol....

The fight was decent enough, but I found the middle rounds a bit wearing. The referee had to break them up too much for my liking. A little too stop/start/stop/start for me. Yeah, my initial post was a bit strong. Definitely not my fight of the year, but I liked it enough to want to see them do it again.

115-113 or something similar to that for either guy is acceptable, but 119-111 is just retarded. Loved the fight, hope they do it again, and due to fairness maybe do it in madrid spain this go round, I know not likely to happen but still. Martinez I think just became my favorite fighter with this fight and his post fight interview, as for steward talking "smack" about his heart or toughness, what the f*** I think martinez is as tough and determined as they come. Props to Paul to for fighting the way he did, cause a great fight takes two, Amazing fight , one of the few fights where I think a draw would have actually been the correct decision.

I think it was a great fight, both guys fighting to the brink of exhaustion. Don't really know what more you could want from a fight.

Paul Williams, Chris Arreola, Brian Minto and Sergio Martinez all credit for making entertaining fights.
Agreed. At the end of the day, one thing for certain is that Martinez's stock definitely rose after his performance in this fight. No doubt about it. I had the fight very close. It was really about whether you are a fan of volume punching or cleaner punches. Martinez landed the more effective punches, but Williams threw more.

Does anyone think the fight would have been different at 154?

I had it 6-5-1 for Martinez. 119 is fucking absurd. And Steward should be fucking chastised for questioning Martinez heart and toughness.

sergio needs to just forget about boxing and show up to the ring with a damn pistol and just start lettin off shots . That's damn near the only way poor dude is gonna ever win a fight. I welcome you and funeka to America. Shit works funny round here sometimes. Should probably watch your luggage while you're here too. Ask Arthur Abraham about that

For real Mar, he might as well just go strapped and fire a couple of rounds...
