Khan fighting in America on the Pac-Floyd undercard is just about selling him to America. He has to look IMPRESSIVE for that to happen so a veteran like Castillo is just about the right opponent. That's the business.
it's ridiculous, Castillo has no business being in the ring, he's given enough to the sport, and Khan trying to take advantage of his name with no regard to how seriously hurt the guy can get is absurd
Castillo maybe past his best but he's still active - he's fought 4 or 5 times this year. Anyway.. it's only a rumour.

I'm sure Khan would fight Floyd or Pac if it was up to him.

his actions sure say otherwise, he seems content fighting bums, as long as he has that little belt around his waist

Give it a rest mate. He fought Kotelnik for the title and then fulfilled his mandatory. What the hell is he supposed to do?

Kotelnik the weakest fighter at 140, and bullshit, his mandatory was Maidana and Castillo is a step in the completely wrong direction, read the entire thread before putting your two cents, i said that he has potential, but he seriously needs to step it up, and thinking about taking on Morales or Castillo is far from stepping up in opposition, i also said that Judah would be a step in the right direction and that he should be given plenty of credit even for making the fight, but if he goes for Castillo i don't see how anyone can even try to make it seem like a decent fight

He's stepping up at a very decent rate. He's gone from being starched, to winning the world title and defending it against a mandatory challenger in the space of 14 months. If he keeps progressing like this he'll be fighting the elite names (if he gets that far) by the time he's 26/27....Just like most other elite fighters do.

I don't think you can call him on the Castillo speculation since it's just that...speculation.

there were tougher winnable fights out there for him instead of Barrera at 135, he could have taken on one of the tougher challengers instead of jumping at a world title, sorry but once you win a belt you're basically making the statement that you're ready for world class opposition, and Castillo and Salita are most definitely not that, i've burnt Berto on the same thing, but he's at least stepped it up since winning the title by fighting Collazo, Urango, and now set to take on Mosley, Khan shouldn't be rushed, but neither should he have someone holding his damn hand, Judah is a step up, although not at his best anymore, he's still a good opponent and test for Khan, Castillo simply isn't, and i understand that it's just speculation, but honestly guys like Morales and Castillo shouldn't even be considered as suitable opponents for Khan at this stage

I'm sure Salita was Khan's mandatory. And I think there's definitely a good possibility of Khan as chief support for Mayweather Manny as it would give Sky the opportunity to sell it as a PPV. Khan/Warren make a cut of the PPV, Khan gets the US shop window, Warren pushes him in his friend Bob Arum's direction and away from GBP as Warren has more chance of remaining co-promoter with Arum than GBP, the Mayweather Manny promotion gets an extra revenue stream, Sky make a few quid. Everybody is happy. They've got to be thinking about it.

Maidana was the mandatory, his fight against Ortiz was an eliminator bout to determine the #1 contender for Kotelnik's belt, the same title Khan won
